It’s not too late for Governor Hogan to revisit this misguided decision, follow CDC advice, and empower Marylanders to cast their ballots in a way that does not jeopardize public health or overextend local boards of elections. – at Baltimore, MD
Opposition to Hogan’s plan has grown steadily louder since the Republican governor called for the November election to be held primarily in person, with all voting precincts open as well as early voting locations. bit.ly/3fILrg2

Today marks 7 years since the Supreme Court gutted the Voting Rights Act.
Since then, states with a history of voter suppression have closed 1,688 polling places throughout the South.
It couldn't be more blatant:

Seven years ago today, the United States Supreme Court gutted the Voting Rights Act with their decision in Shelby v. Holder. Since then, former VRA states across the South have struggled with voter suppression. From 2016: bit.ly/3i0qrTx

7 years ago, the Supreme Court's Shelby v. Holder decision gutted the Voting Rights Act and opened the floodgates for states to put in place suppressive voting laws.
200+ days ago, the House passed #HR4 to restore the VRA. The Senate MUST take up and pass HR4 to #RestoreTheVote!

MHP staff members are hard at work staying in touch and providing what young learners need to stay engaged. Recently several parents stopped by one of our community centers to pick up academic activity packets and other resources to take home. #InThisTogether #connection #COVID19
