academic twitter is a place where you can say something like “i’m tired of marking” and someone will be like “not me, i love evaluating and grading a stack of 60 assignments at supersonic speed because i love students and you don’t” and then they’ll fan their peacock tail.

Settler-made famine because of settler siege & settler blockade, with cold & rain on the way.
These are the conditions of genocide. Not just the bombs, bullets, & torture chambers.
Residents in #Gaza fear falling into acute hunger once again as vegetables and fruit vanish from markets, flour grows scarce, prices rise, and they struggle to feed their children

Many community kitchens in Gaza provide rice or lentils. People are tired of this food and unfortunately it is sometimes thrown away because the quality of the food is so bad. Please help: chuffed.org/project/help-us-…
This is why The Sameer Project kitchen works on providing delicious and nourishing food that is provided with dignity from tent to tent. No queues, no lists, no special treatment.
On September 9th, The Sameer Project distributed food to Aedoon Camp in Zahra area. This is in Central area, near the yellow line. 450 meals of kofta (meat) and rice were given to the camp, 67 meals were given to the civil defense and 5 meals to our doctors in the medical point. The 522 meals cost around $1,475 including the 11% commission.

The government of Canada is officially committed to upholding the ICC and arresting the leader of this country if he sets foot on its soil. Unclear how that position can be squared morally or ethically with whatever this is.
This morning, I met with Israel’s Ambassador to Canada as part of ongoing engagement on technology, AI, and economic development.
Dialogue matters, particularly in complex times.

And bringing the means to oppress populations to the rest of the world.
This week, I am participating in the Government of Canada’s trade mission, led by Minister @MSidhuLiberal P.C., M.P. , to the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia. The mission is focused on expanding international partnerships and opening new markets for Canadian companies. For firms like Roshel, trade diversification is not an abstract policy discussion. It is about securing long term demand, strengthening Canada’s industrial base, and supporting nearly 500 high value Canadian jobs in Brampton, Ontario.

If there’s something to be learned from the holocaust, it’s that a world where life is contingent upon showing your papers is a barbaric, inhumane one, not that the Jews are the only victims of continuing inhumanity

There is an Andrea Dworkin quote about women essentially protecting themselves from seeing the reality of men's hatred toward women.
Many women reject feminism or any accusations against men - in particular, and in general - because it is shattering to realise the extent of betrayal & treachery.
I am feeling heavy hearted today after some conversations lately with women, and KNOWING HOW MUCH I KNOW, and they can't/won't/don't know.
This is a shout out to women who do not look away, who face this phenomena every day & SPEAK about it.
It is a heavy burden.

I do not believe anyone ever contents themselves with working an alienated, meaning-bereft job, doing the same things week after week, struggling to pay bills, and seeing no possible end to the repetition of the same. You endure it and your human vitality is chipped away.
okay, but the Iron Dome is bad.

If the symbolic function functions, we are inside it. And I would even say – we are so far into it that we can't get out of it.

The Deleuze from D & G's Anti-Oedipus & A Thousand Plateaus is not the Deleuze that inspired me. It was Deleuze's Difference & Repetition (A metaphysical masterpiece), The Logic of Sense, & Expressionism in Philosophy. These books still interest me today! These are "my" Deleuze.
