Why are the replies implying that this is ok? These are the people who will later be making inappropriate jokes at gatherings or offices. This is not ok. I guarantee you that if you were a kid in the 90s or older your mom or dad would woop you for making these jokes.
Most people underestimate JVM's performance. JVM is only slow at startup & first launch (before JIT optimizations kicks in). In most tasks (with the same code) it would only get beaten by C/C+, Rust and bare metal stuff.

My fight with Software Stores continues. This is just horrible. Trying to install a 26MB and it was stuck at 0% for abt 15 mins. After closing and opening the store about 3 times, it decided to just install. Eagerly waiting for popOS with new Cosmic to come out so I can switch

Is macOS the only OS that knows how to make a functional offical app store?? Are there people actually working on this over at Microsoft?? Winget & UnigetUI work so much better than this mess. Is it really this hard to make a functional store?? So annoying

Apparently my EFI partition was too small. Since my laptop has full Linux support, firmware updates can be performed from Linux which require a bigger EFI partition. GParted to the rescue.
Switched to KDE Plasma. Way better experience even if it doesn't look as good as GNOME. Better font rendering, no blurry apps with fractional scaling, lower RAM usage and none of that trackpad scroll issue. I'll be sticking with this for a while.
Switched from Ubuntu 22.04 to Fedora 40. GNOME really sucks. It was slightly tolerable when I was on Ubuntu but its just annoying on Fedora. Lots of tiny little issues. The issue with scrolling speed on trackpads is extremely annoying. Switching to KDE, let's see how it goes.
