🚨 IN CASE YOU MISSED IT: LUCY POWELL CAUGHT TAKING THOUSANDS FROM THE UAE GOVERNMENT! Just in case you missed the latest Gulf money scandal taking over Downing Street, let me expose the latest politician caught in the web. Education Secretary Lucy Powell pocketed 3,500 pounds in luxury hospitality paid directly by the United Arab Emirates government. She also happily accepted free tickets on five separate occasions from Manchester City, the exact same football club Burnham protects from financial cheating charges. Labour elites are raking in luxury foreign freebies while forcing brutal tax hikes onto working class families. Retweet this immediately to expose the corrupt influence ring operating right inside the Burnham cabinet. 🇬🇧🔥

This is from March 2022, months before the tweet that you have quoted. You know that Kemi Badenoch was one of the first people in parliament to speak out against Self ID and the erosion of single sex spaces. This is a disingenuous accusation that I don't think you believe.
As a woman, I find this offensive and unforgivable. My rights are not something you champion when it’s politically fashionable and abandon when it’s politically convenient. Fool me once shame on you, fool me twice shame on me. The Conservatives don’t believe in anything but getting back into power. Why on earth would anyone trust them again.
Readers added context they thought people might want to know
The quoted 20 Jun, 2022 Badenoch's tweet announced an online application service for existing GRC, not self-ID. gov.uk/government/new… Before that tweet, on 2 March 2022, Badenoch warned MPs against self-ID rules that could be exploited by male predators and said women must be protected (Q77). committees.parliament.uk/oralevidence/9…

Thanks Andy
I know people are worried about fuel prices. And I get it. You get to the pump, watch the numbers climb, and wonder why it's costing so much more than it used to.   The reality is that global events are pushing up costs, and families here at home are feeling the impact.   But I won't accept that there's nothing I can do to help.   That's why from today, you'll be able to see petrol and diesel prices on Google Maps, compare nearby stations and find the cheapest option before you fill up.   It's a small change, but if there's a practical way to help people keep more money in their pocket, I'll do it.

Thanks @afneil - fair points & at least in criticising you appear to be offering an alternative, which is to buy into systems not in service in the UK, and therefore would take much longer to deliver, rather than our plan built largely around expanding what we have - for speed & value for money. I’d be happy to meet anytime anywhere & we can compare the deliverability, cost & feasibility of our respective plans. Public debate is urgently needed on this subject, after all. On your claim we did ‘nothing’ on air defence in 14 years: - our brave service personnel have been defended from drone attack in the Middle East in recent months by the highly effective Rapid Sentry counter drone system we procured in govt - we also procured the ground-breaking counter-drone ‘DragonFire’ laser and, as Kemi explains in ‘the Right Way’, after Houthis attacked HMS Diamond with drones in April 2024 I slashed loads of red tape from the project to accelerate its in service date from 2032 to protecting our Navy ships as soon as next year. - I also developed another Directed Energy Weapon, RF DEW, to fry swarms of drones. - on medium range GBAD, whilst I was Defence Procurement Minister in Nov 23, we announced NAREW, a £4bn deal with Poland to jointly deliver CAMM (medium range) air defence with them, supporting many UK jobs - on longer range interception, also in my time as Procurement Minister, in Jan 24 we announced the upgrade for Sea Viper (the anti-air missile system on Type 45s) known as ‘Sea Viper Evolution’, to make our Aster missiles over time capable of intercepting more sophisticated ballistic missiles - in govt we supplied a large quantity of counter-drone & general air defence systems to Ukraine, from the tactical level to civilian area protection. Finally, when we left office Labour had in their inbox a multi-billion pound Munitions Plan ready to go including major investment in the full range of air defence effectors - I know because I wrote it, and we had a plan to pay for it by cutting the civil service. Labour parked this to do their SDR, and 3 Defence Secretaries, two Prime Ministers and one DIP later we’re still waiting for their plan.
The Tories are proposing to build an integrated UK air and missile defence network. It’s long overdue. They did nothing about it in the 14 years they were in power.  Now they promise a £10 billion plan — but only over 10 years. So not exactly a rapid build out.  But better than the government. Which called missile defence a priority — then allocated under £800m over four years to it.  This despite the fact a Commons defence committee recently reported we have ‘next to nothing’ when it comes to missile defence. The Tory plan is to start with protection for critical infrastructure and military bases then build out to protect the UK mainland and British bases overseas.  A basic capability would be in place in a first Tory term, if there ever is one, with stockpiles and coverage expanded over the following five years.  A few of the pieces are already in place. Sky Sabre is mobile medium-range interceptor that’s already been deployed to Poland and the Middle East.  Type 45 destroyers carry Sea Viper interceptors for coastal and fleet defence.  RAF jets can be scrambled to take out drones and some missiles — though that’s expensive and they can’t deal with ballistic missiles.  But none of that comes anywhere near a standing national defence against longer-range ballistic missiles, the biggest threat. Nor do we have the necessary stocks of interceptors and counter-drone weapons.  Some media comment has likened the Tory plan to Israel’s fabled Iron Dome missile defence. But that’s misleading.  A truly national missile defence would cost a lot more than £10 billion. And Israel’s Iron Dome is much misunderstood. It is not one but three defensive systems for different missile threats.  The Iron Dome itself has been in operation since 2011 and takes out short-range rockets, artillery and some drones from the likes of Hamas and Hezbollah. Britain doesn’t face such a threat.  Then there’s David’s Sling which deals with mid-range missiles: cruise missiles, aircraft, drones and tactical ballistic missiles, out to roughly 100–300 km, with the hit-to-kill Stunner missile. And at the very top — most relevant to the UK but the least discussed here — is Arrow 2 and Arrow 3, sculpted by Israel Aerospace Industries, with US involvement.  This is the system that takes on medium- and intermediate-range ballistic missiles. Arrow 2 works inside the atmosphere; Arrow 3 intercepts outside it, above 100 km, at ranges out to about 2,400 km.  This should be of most interest to Britain. Because threats to us are much more likely to be from longer-range missiles.  It is significant, though apparently unnoticed by the Tories, that Germany signed up for Arrow 3 in 2023, the first time the Israelis have exported the system under licence.  The first deployment was made south of Berlin last December. A second site has been announced in Bavaria.  Germany is planning full operational readiness with sites in the north, centre and south of the country by 2030. Not in 10 years time, as the Tories envisage.  Just as significant, the cost of the first Arrow 3 deployment was under £3 billion. Total Arrow spend including interceptors and launchers will be under £5 billion.  Which rather makes it a mystery why nobody in Labour or the Tories is saying we should follow suit — buy off the shelf the most sophisticated, tried and tested missile defence system on the planet.  Germany will is acquiring Arrow 3 as part of the European Sky Shield Initiative. Which you’d think might appeal to Europhile Labour. The cost should appeal to the Tories.  At least the Tories have put missile defence on the agenda. Labour, it’s reported this morning in The Times, is still dithering about how to get defence spending to 3% of GDP — and looks like postponing the matter for another year.  In the current dangerous geopolitical climate that is close to a dereliction of duty which shames the Burnham government. You wonder how John Healey can even look at himself in the mirror

In Israel, Israeli Jews and Arabs have equal rights. In the PA areas and Gaza, Jews are killed if they step over the boundary. So the BBC presenter is right: you want a fantasy but the reality is utterly brutal - to Jews.

Over the summer, Henry Nowak's final moments were broadcast around the world. He was just eighteen, and when the police reached him on a street in Southampton he would have believed that help had come. He told them he had been stabbed and could not breathe, and they handcuffed and arrested him. I met Henry's family in June, and that meeting has stayed with me ever since. There is still much more to be said about how the police failed Henry, and about how they went on failing his family and loved ones right up until the conviction. The day after we met, I wrote to the then Prime Minister, Keir Starmer asking for an independent, rapid review of the police response, the decisions that followed, and the role of the police watchdog. I didn't publish that letter at the time, because I hoped the Government would do the right thing and I wanted to work with them quietly to make that happen. Downing Street's answer was to wait for the existing processes to run their course. Since then, Keir Starmer has gone and Andy Burnham has taken his place, yet still there is no review. There was little mention of victims in the PM’s speech earlier this week. Henry's family have waited long enough, so today I'm publishing my letter. Andy Burnham should order the review now, and I stand ready to work with him to set it up, as I offered in June. I haven't forgotten Henry, and I won't let this Government forget him either.

"If they find a Christian mistaken in a field they know well and hear his foolish opinions about our books, how will they believe those books in matters concerning the resurrection of the dead ....and the kingdom of heaven...?" Augustine, The Literal Meaning of Genesis
There are seashells on Mt. Ararat where the Bible says Noah’s Ark rested. There are even seashells on Mt. Everest, the highest mountain in the world. The Bible is true and a global flood really did take place. I’ll believe the Bible over “scientists” every time.

Jesus is not a fake god. He is a historical figure with strong contemporary attestation, claimed divinity through resurrection accounts that launched the world's largest religion, and stands apart from the purely mythological figures in that image.
