We're organizing a new workshop on data contamination (CONDA) at ACL2024! CFP below
Contamination is when test data was included in training, for any reason. A lot of research is needed to understand when this happens, or prevent it. Consider submitting!

BREAKING: The “few bad apples” line pushed by the UN has just been obliterated. The Wall Street Journal front page is reporting that an estimated 1,200 Unrwa employees in Gaza are actual “operatives” of Hamas or Palestinian Islamic Jihad, and about half have close relatives who belong to the Islamist terrorist organizations, according to Israeli intelligence estimates shared with the U.S. government.
The report said 23% of Unrwa’s male employees—the agency has a total staff of 12,000 in Gaza—took active part in the Hamas organization’s military or political framework, a higher percentage than the average of 15% for adult males in Gaza.
The information in the Israeli intelligence reports is based on sensitive signals intelligence as well as cellphone tracking data, interrogations of captured Hamas gunmen and documents recovered from dead terrorists.
Nearly half of all Unrwa employees—an estimated 49%—also had close relatives with official ties to Hamas and other terrorist groups.
The Oct. 7 intelligence reports seen by the Wall Street Journal identified an Unrwa Arabic teacher who was also a Hamas terrorist commander and took part in a terrorist attack on Kibbutz Be’eri, where 97 people were murdered, and about 26 people were kidnapped and taken as hostages to Gaza.
Another Unrwa employee, described in the dossier as an Unrwa social worker, played a role in absconding with the body of a dead Israeli soldier, which was taken to Gaza, the reports said. He also coordinated trucks and munitions distributions for Hamas before being killed.

.@NorwayPalestine You forgot to disclose here that the head of your foreign ministry is Leni Stenseth who just completed her term as UNRWA Deputy Commissioner General, during which she visited Hamas chief Yahya Sinwar in Gaza and “affirmed her solidarity.” xitter.cf/HillelNeuer/status/175…
The situation in Gaza is catastrophic, and @UNRWA is the most important humanitarian organization there. Norway continues our support for the Palestinian people through UNRWA. International support for Palestine is needed now more than ever

Isn’t it interesting that the only two jurists on the ICJ panel who have actually witnessed genocide — Barak during the Holocaust and Sebuntinde in Sudan and Rwanda— voted to dismiss the charges?
They’re like … we’ve seen genocide, and this ain’t it.

And now, a story about UNRWA.
Back in November, we at @Jerusalem_Post shared journalist @bokeralmog's report that an Israeli who had been held hostage in Gaza said that he had been held captive in the home of a teacher employed by @UNRWA who was also a father of ten children.
The former hostage said he had been locked away for nearly 50 days in the UNRWA teacher's attic, had barely been provided with food, and had his medical needs ignored.
The next day, I received an indignant note from an UNRWA official saying that there was no evidence behind the report and demanding that the story be removed from our website. I did not comply.
The same day, UNRWA released a statement decrying "unsubstantiated claims" about the organization and accusing those circulating Boker's report of "misinformation." Their tweet on the subject (xitter.cf/UNRWA/status/173…) was slapped with a Community Note listing just a few of the many instances in which UNRWA personnel were found to have celebrated or been involved in terrorism.
Fast forward to yesterday, when it was revealed that at least a dozen UNRWA employees participated directly in the October 7 Hamas massacre. UNRWA chief @UNLazzarini rushed to put out a statement declaring his "shock" at the revelation and declaring that the employees in question had been terminated.
But no one with even a passing familiarity with UNRWA should be shocked to learn that its employees have been involved in horrific acts of terror. Indeed, this has been an open secret for years. Time and again, UNRWA employees and officials have been found to have participated in terrorism, glorified the murder of Jews and those who perpetrate them, disseminated grotesque antisemitic propaganda, and openly denied Israel's right to exist. UNRWA facilities and resources have also been used to commit acts of terror and conceal weapons; in recent weeks, Israeli servicemen have found rockets hidden in an UNRWA school and UNRWA-labeled materials in a Hamas terror tunnel.
None of this is new, and Lazzarini knows it. So do the United States, the United Kingdom, Canada, and other countries, which have long funded UNRWA and which have now suspended their contributions following yesterday's revelation.
UN Secretary General @antonioguterres has said that he is "horrified" by the news that UNRWA employees were involved in terror. If he's serious, instead of professing shock and horror every time another report like this comes out, Guterres should order an immediate, independent investigation into the organization's personnel and activities with the goal of excising all ties to terrorism and incitement – or replacing it with an agency untainted by terror.
🛑 Spreading unsubstantiated claims about @UNRWA must stop immediately.
Making serious allegations in the public domain, unsupported by any evidence or verifiable facts in support thereof may amount to misinformation.

🚨 One of the malls in Gaza is exposing the Ministry of Economy, managed by Hamas, for attempting to sell aid goods at high prices.
Instead of distributing the aid, the Ministry of Economy in Gaza is selling the aid at a high price.
This is the translation of their post on FB:
We would like to inform our valued customers... Goods were presented to us by the Ministry of Economy and were rejected by the management of Al Shaer Mall. The reason for this is their significantly higher prices compared to the normal rates. We wish to send a message that Al Shaer Mall will not serve as a center for selling goods to corrupt traders. We strongly reject the actions of the failed Ministry of Economy. May God protect our people from the oppression of monopolistic traders.

Emotional reunion: husband and wife that were seriously injured in the terrorist attack in Israel meet for the first time after not seeing each other for 40 days.
Yosef and Ella were seriously injured on October 7, when Hamas terrorisrs threw a grenade into their house. Their daughter saved them and since then they have been hospitalized in two different hospitals.
Now the two survivors meet each other again in a very emotional moment.
