I meant things along the lines of:
• Users not being aware of upgrades
• Users not upgrading when there are critical security updates or bug fixes
• Having to support much older versions of software indefinitely

I think the goal for Codebase has to be user/org owned and controlled repos, etc (canisters) that can decide if and when they want upgrades.
In practice I think there’s a lot to figure out there, and a lot of it isn’t specific to Codebase.

@py demos codebase.org, his IC-powered github-like. He creates a repository and adds a commit via web UI, then clones the repo locally. General git workflows aren't ready yet, but Paul is now working on tasks such as authentication which will get us there! Exciting! 😲

That process of tailoring a product roadmap to solve a dire problem for a specific market with a best-in-class solution that matches their way of thinking about the problem: *THAT* is marketing
Advertising comes after all of that. Not before

The Telegram bot at t.me/InternetComputerBot runs fully on the #InternetComputer now, no external bridges needed any more, just a simple canister (= IC-hosted service), thanks to new IC features implemented by @py. Code at github.com/nomeata/ic-telegr….

Programs running on @dfinity’s #internetcomputer can now serve HTTP _and_ update their state, thanks to @py. It’s a tad slow, of course, because it goes through consensus. Try it at y4oop-liaaa-aaaab-qacha-cai.… (playground demo, will disappear shortly), code at m7sm4-2iaaa-aaaab-qabra-cai.…

I really like this paper on how to write research papers and I use it all the time for writing proposals. I think “writing papers is a primary mechanism for *doing* research (not just for *reporting* it)” is quite liberating and also applies to blog posts cis.upenn.edu/~sweirich/icfp…
