This claim is patently false, @s_deery - the CFA have not 'announced' this: please update your story to reflect the facts. @JaclynSymes

Been posting over on Bluesky past couple days and friends the vibe there is so much better than this hell site. Strong recommend for making the shift over.

Going to stop posting here for a while. It's become too much of a cesspit of disinfo and doomscrolling and the value of posting is low. Find me over at patsimons.bsky.social

“It’s not just social media which is to blame for spreading division. The UK tabloids have long been whipping up anger against immigrants, asylum seekers and Muslims Fanning fear, breeding hate, and now leading to violence.” #MediaWatch

X persists because it has so many active, engaged users - users who look at ads, who are paying Elon Musk to host them here Posting here, reading stuff here, engaging with people here all contributes to the broader effect of this remaining the place for "engagement"

The Bangladeshi government has declared war on dissent. Thousands are missing, dead, injured in state violence executed to silence opposition to an anti-democratic regime. smh.com.au/world/asia/almost…

74% of Australians support a wealth tax on individuals with over $50 million. Turns out folks like Gina Rinehart, Clive Palmer and Anthony Pratt aren't exactly beloved national treasures. crikey.com.au/2024/08/05/g20…

This is ridiculous. The ACF is a well respected mainstream ENGO. If it can be suspended for 'breaking X Rules', then no environmental group is safe from censorship here.

Qld is leading on publicly owned renewable energy. Who will step up to match this? Vic rebuilding the SEC is a good start

For Australians in the Bush, renewable energy is so much more than climate action. It’s a transformative opportunity to reduce cost of living pressures and to promote energy security and independence. Read and share my blog.👇🏽 lyrebirddreaming.com/post/be…

The 1992 Disability Discrimination Act mandated that ALL Tram Stops be accessible by the end of 2022 At last count only 400 of 1700 had been done - in 30yrs It’s a disgrace that vulnerable members of our community are excluded from basic services like public transport #springst
To show massive improvements Melbourne has made over Toronto, is that there's at least a program to replace tram stops in corridors, but it is slow, needs more funding and also better traffic priority. But it's far better than nothing. We need to do more of course, a lot more.

Interesting proposal to offer ultra-cheap electricity for households as we shift to renewables. Call it something different in Australia and it might just work
Our energy system must support the green transition AND lower people's bills - that's why we came up with the National Energy Guarantee. Great to see it featured in this @guardian piece on the alternatives to our current system💡 theguardian.com/environment/…

This is why I joined @Co_Power_ where you get a say on directing profits to climate justice projects and mutual aid
If you’re with @Powershop, you need to see this👇 “Shell plans job cuts in offshore wind business as CEO refocuses on oil and gas.” Shell owns @PowershopAus. It’s why I stopped being a Powershop customer.
