The sequence proven to work in recent findings from the Project Sinan Research Cohort.

We do still have reports for those building along the lines of ICMs, Payments and Stablecoins.
Do send me a DM to access these reports and to learn more about our work at Project Sinan 🧭
Stuff like this is qhy you should be following @ProjectSinan and show up on their X spaces.
One trend we saw in our ICM research that keeps amusing me is when we asked how people trust projects or products on this space in our survey and only 6% of respondent mentioned reading the docs. The leading answer was that they used accounts they follow on X to judge whether to trust a project or not. In the follow-up interviews, participants explained that they used notable accounts in the space as trust signals for new projects.
Basically, crypto is a people led space when it comes to trust. Our study didn't dig deeper into the cause but my hypothesis for this pattern is that because of how often projects rug, get hacked, or just slowly fade till shutdown, every new project in the space is generally seen by crypto folks through an eye of skepticism so that no direct claim or announcement made by the team would buy trust (hence why most people don't bothee with docs or project announcements.) If, however, you're able to get a notable person or identity to endorse your product, invest in it, or acknowledge what you're building, then you're more likely to secure trust and attention from CT folks.
Of course, if your product is good enough (and novel), this should happen almost naturally. But it's interesting to me that most people here barely go through project docs or announcements when choosing what to trust.

After the recently completed @ProjectSinan cohort, I realized that Web3 product research especially ones that shows the microeconomics of Nigerian users, still feels largely underexplored.
So, I've decided to embark on a series of independent research projects exploring this.

I was listening to Ladi Williams, Business Morning today, on the new Macro numbers from Nigeria, and it got me thinking about the new tokenized stocks news we have gotten...
From the new directive by the Nigerian SEC to the NASD OTC Securities Exchange to allow companies to offer tokenised assets...
To the US SEC, "innovation exemption" that would allow 24/7 blockchain trading of tokenized stocks.
IMO, the people who would benefit most from this would be local companies offering tokenized stocks, as is the case with several Solana integrations/products such as @Nectar_finance, @getequity and others.
Especially now that we have seen an accelerated growth of new products entering the stablecoin market(280+ alone in Nigeria, according to data from @VerdaVentures) and more trad institutions getting involved in stablebanking.
And of course, this might be the best use case for Local Stablecoins, especially for DEX/infra products focused on onchain trading...
And an additional boost, if there are going to be tax exemptions or reduced taxes for them...
Which would honestly be the best move for the government if they want a reduced impact of the use of dollar denominated stablecoins.
The coming months would certainly be interesting, and we at @ProjectSinan would be on top of that 🧭
We shared valuable ICM Behavioural Insights of the average Nigerian on the Report Presentation Day.
One of those insights was Control.
Something as simple as giving more control to your users could yield better results for your products 🧭

If someone had told me that research would make me approach strangers in person for surveys, I would have argued it to the teeth.
But well, I did it. My team did it.
Printing out our survey instruments wasn't just a backup plan, it was a necessity. The trust reality of open markets is entirely unique.
On day one, people didn’t want to click any external links, when we diagnosed the barrier, we had to come back the next day with printed copies and we pulled in twice the number of recruits compared to the previous day.
It was hectic but necessary. To get real world insight, you need to get your boots dirty. Totally worth it!

Some of the biggest requests we have received since our Report Presentation Day has been for our findings on stablecoin usage
That isn't surprising...🧭
Stablecoins remain crypto's strongest real-world use case.
But the market is evolving rapidly. Regulations continue to shift across jurisdictions, competition is intensifying, and new players from fintechs to global financial institutions are entering the space.
In an environment like this, a deeper understanding of how people actually use stablecoins can provide a competitive advantage.
If you'd like to learn more about our findings, send us a DM.

I attended the report presentation. Stellar work from the teams, and their facilitator, @IwalolaSobowale.
Web3 companies with operations in SSA should ping them for insights on:
- Web3 Capital Markets
- B2B(small enterprises) crypto payments
- Hybrid models leveraging agents for payments

This year, I dedicated around 100 hours of my scarce free time outside my 9 to 5 to facilitate a 12-week research mentorship for @ProjectSinan, bridging a web3 or Internet Capital Markets (ICM) practice with a traditional Nigerian sector, written for a named decision-maker who could act on it.
Their research turned up findings I think deserve wider attention than a course grade gives them.
First, I want to say a huge congratulations to the mentees who carried this all the way through to a published capstone report. @SB_Wryta , @Esimuda, @Hadeezarrh1, @faithy_danniel @Armstrongofdefi, @Peter_Favourr, @Ef__e, @Hogwartsofweb3 and @Forbe500.
I also want to appreciate @RalAndrewTalks, Lead, Project Sinan, for the seamless execution of the programme and @Harri_obi, Lead, @SuperteamNG, for the opportunity.
In this article, I cover what they found, in their own data, and who I think should actually be reading each one.

Crazy what ignorance can do to you.
This surfaced itself during one of @ProjectSinan research topics, particularly on ICM.
The question was, do you even know when you're participating in ICM?
If you want to know more, the recordings will be made public soon!

For the Project Sinan final capstone project, my teammates and I investigated how small-business owners currently handle cross-border supplier payments and what conditions would drive them to adopt stablecoins for these transactions. The decision-maker was a Solana merchant payments startup that needed to know whether to target small-business owners as an early adopter segment or start with a more formal business segment.
Using a qualitative exploratory method, we conducted semi-structured interviews with 13 active small-business importers across Lagos, Abuja, Anambra, and Edo states.
After 15 weeks of learning about research (read: product and market research) and using the capstone project to put into practice what we learnt, my teammates and I presented our findings and recommendations today 🥹
I cannot wait for you guys to read the entire report!
I’m grateful for the experience I’ve garnered over the past 3 months. Thank you @IwalolaSobowale, for graciously teaching us and making research fun. I have learnt about research at least four times in my lifetime — in primary 5, a 300-level course, Solana Turbine, and now Project Sinan — and yours proved the most enjoyable. I’m glad our paths crossed.
Thank you, @ProjectSinan for the opportunity.
And to my teammates @Hogwartsofweb3 and @Forbe500, I had a swell time working with you guys. Even with the odds against us and tight time constraints, we conquered. I can’t wait to see the amazing things we all accomplish with our newfound research knowledge. It’s only up from here!
And oh, I am officially a trained product and market researcher! 🤭

It wasn’t easy but we did it!
Good job guys.
We will keep putting into practice what we learnt from the cohort.
Big thanks to our mentor, @IwalolaSobowale for impacting us and also for being an amazing teacher.
Thank you @SuperteamNG and @ProjectSinan for the opportunity.
I am now a Trained Researcher, guys😌
We just presented our capstone project report summary at the final presentation for @ProjectSinan Cohort
Big ups to "the team" for pulling this off in such timeline and with such bottlenecks.
And to our hosts and mentors, you guys made this happen. Thank you🧡👏
