#MomentOfPride #IITH @IITHyderabad congratulates Four BTech students—Mahak Gadia (Industrial Chemistry), Raqi Mohammad (Industrial Chemistry), Udit Maini (Mechanical Engineering), and Yug Nikesh Gandhi (Engineering Physics)—working under the supervision of Dr. Ashish Kulkarni (Chemistry Department), for receiving the Excellence award at the TECO International Contest 2026 that was held in Taiwan, from August 18 to 21, 2026. Their project, “Decarbonizing Solar Energy Through Humidity-Tolerant Perovskite Fabrication,” was selected among the Top 20 finalists from 267 applications worldwide. The team was also the only finalist team from India, shortlisted from 15 applications submitted by different IITs. What makes this achievement even more remarkable? While the finalist teams were primarily composed of Master’s and Ph.D. students, the IIT Hyderabad team comprised B.Tech. students, demonstrating the power of early-stage research, interdisciplinary learning, and hands-on innovation. #IITHyderabad #TECO2026 #ExcellenceAward #StudentInnovation #ResearchAndInnovation #SolarEnergy #Perovskite #Sustainability #Decarbonization #GlobalRecognition @EduMinOfIndia

🏆 A Moment of Pride for #IITH | National Teachers’ Award 2026 to Prof. Kirti Chandra Sahu #IITHyderabad is proud to share and congratulate Prof. Kirti Chandra Sahu, Department of Chemical Engineering, on being honoured with the National Teachers' Award 2026 by the Ministry of Education, Government of India. The National Teachers' Award is conferred by the Hon’ble President of India, recognising exceptional educators for their outstanding contributions to teaching, research, innovation, mentoring and academic leadership. Prof. Sahu is a distinguished teacher, researcher and academic leader whose pioneering research on the shape and size distributions of raindrops at different altitudes contributes to a better understanding of rainfall and improved rainfall prediction. He has developed a unique experimental facility that simulates the atmospheric conditions experienced by raindrops as they descend from clouds to the ground, with potential applications in weather forecasting and climate modelling. As a founding faculty member at @IITHyderabad, Prof. Sahu has made significant contributions to curriculum development, student mentoring, and academic leadership, further strengthening the Institute’s culture of excellence in education and research. He is a recipient of several prestigious honours, including the Young Scientist Awards of the Indian National Science Academy, the National Academy of Sciences, India, and the Indian Academy of Sciences, as well as the VASVIK Award. He is a Fellow of the Indian National Academy of Engineering, the Indian Academy of Sciences, and the Institute of Physics, UK, and has also been awarded the J. C. Bose Grant (formerly known as the J. C. Bose National Fellowship). IIT Hyderabad extends its heartfelt congratulations to Prof. Kirti Chandra Sahu on this prestigious national recognition and celebrates his remarkable contributions to teaching, research and academic leadership. @rashtrapatibhvn @narendramodi @EduMinOfIndia @BVRMohanReddy @mhrd_innovation @PIBHyderabad @PTI_News @TOIIndiaNews #IITH #IITHyderabad #NationalAwardsToTeachers #NAT2026 #TeachersDay #MomentOfPride #ChemicalEngineering #AcademicExcellence
