Year 5 pupils have been testing the electric vehicles they constructed in DT at the Primary Engineer showcase event. They explained design choices and improvements to South Eastern rail engineers and have been excellent ambassadors for the school @BWPrimary @primaryengineer

Derby has always known a thing or two about building trains.
Great to see the next generation doing just that with Primary Engineer and Rail Forum, as local pupils built, tested and problem-solved together while learning where STEM skills can take them.

Today we revealed the awards for this year's @primaryengineer 'If I Were An Engineer' competition.
In total we had:
73 Passes
61 Merits
16 Distinctions
We also had a further 19 have their designs Shortlisted for the next round of the completion!

8 of our year 6s went to the Rep in Birmingham to attend the Primary Engineer Celebration event with Titanic, Bunnykins and Puddle Duck. Everyone had lots of fun demonstrating their vehicles and being interviewed by engineers. Team Titanic won theme engineers. Congratulations!

Primary 3 were busy with the next step of their vehicles this week - using specific measuring techniques, we used hand saws to saw dowels that will eventually be where we attach the wheels! #STEM @primaryengineer

We had winners with the Mini Eggspress (best theme) and The Pink Sparkly Glittery Girly Train (best communicators)
