For those of you headed to First Pitch Arizona, just a heads up that the long range weather report is showing cloudy with a high in the low 60s for Thursday. Plenty of time for that to change - today it’s in the low 80s - but check before you get on that plane.
My father would have been 101 today. He survived the second wave at Omaha Beach, the Battle of the Bulge, the horror of seeing the concentration camps first hand, & multiple leukemia bouts, but succumbed to a stroke suffered while waiting in an ER. Miss him every day.
Just had another appointment with my Doc, and got the green light to go to Arizona for First Pitch Arizona. Went every year from 2003 to 2019; missed last year, but looking forward to again see the regulars and the newcomers.
A long time @Mets fan’s take on the deGrom situation. If he re-signs with the Mets, he will spend half of the remainder of the contract on the IL and when healthy, he’l be ok. If he signs with another team, he’ll stay healthy - and elite.
It’s Sunday. There are no FAAB decisions to make for my fantasy baseball teams. I don’t watch the NFL. What the hell am I going to do until the Met game starts.
I must have watched Arenado’s play on Canha’s ground ball a dozen times. How was that not an error all the way. And, yes, Gallegos is on my NL Tout team.
#TGFBI, my team thru 23:
C-Diaz, Rutschman
CI- Olson, Escobar, Cronenworth
MI-Turner, Seager, McNeil
OF-Springer, C Taylor, Verdugo, Nimmo, R Greene
UT- L Wade
P- Hendriks, Rogers(MIA), Romano, Manaea, Kershaw, McCullers, D Williams, Greinke
R- W Flores
Well I auto-picked Turner at 1.1. Since then in my @TGFBI league, it’s been crickets.

MLB fan reactions today:
“We pay your salaries” - Nope, owner’s welfare does
“Make an offer” - They did, the owners did not counter.
“Just play” - Can’t, owners locked them out.
“You’re greedy” - Owners are worse, players have worst deal of all major sports, trying to fix it.
