My affinity for logic puzzles and Paul Auster-style meta fiction may stem from pondering, as a pre-teen, the self-referential paradox of Topps baseball checklist cards including themselves as cards that needed to be obtained and checked off. @SABRbbcards @Topps #baseballcards

I think I've found my favorite picture ever taken inside the Supreme Court, and it's of building support staff setting up for the justices' group photo. From 1976.

Thinking of George Floyd’s family. What they deserve is George being alive. I wish them as much peace as they can find.
I was fortunate enough to see Christopher Plummer play King Lear at Lincoln Center in 2004. Arthur Miller was in the audience.

Today, as I was sworn in, I held in my jacket pocket copies of the ships’ manifests recorded at Ellis Island when my Great Grandfather Israel arrived in 1911 and my Great Grandmother Annie arrived in 1913.
A century later, their great grandson was elected to the U.S. Senate.

It took Senator @HawleyMO 18 minutes to release a statement raging about losing his book deal.
It took him 18 hours to say anything about the officer who died protecting the Senator from the riot he helped start.
Is it still too soon to mention that my play PRAVDA (@ONeill_Center semifinalist), written in 2015, includes a President who loses re-election in a landslide and denies the result with the full support of his media propagandists? Spoiler alert: it doesn’t end well.
