For the first time in years, I have published #NYR prospect rankings. Take a look at my top-20 list, with in-depth scouting reports and a few comments from NHL Scouts.

Well, he's fast and a better defensive center than their current options. He's such a black hole offensively that it kind of overwhelms any of the positives. Useful as a PKer or to protect a lead in the final minutes. Otherwise, a liability.
That's a game for NYR that reflects both sides of the coin: High-floor, low ceiling. They're going to have to find some offensive solutions because "Tye Kartye shoots 25%" isn't a plan they can rely on.
Durzi has been very fortunate after a defensive lapse twice this period. Pettersson has been excellent.

#NYR 3rd-round pick Danai Shaiikov was credited with a 40-save shutout vs the dominant Quebec Remparts in the QMJHL last night. Here are some notable saves.
A couple caveats: I am skeptical of the 40-save count and there were some chaotic moments where puck luck went his way. In any case, a really strong showing against a team with offensive firepower.

Chmelař had some good moments vs DET and NYI but got exposed vs NJ. Needs to work on his agility. I imagine we see him again later this season.
UPDATE: #NYR has recalled forward Taylor Raddysh from the Hartford Wolf Pack.
Additionally, the Rangers have assigned forward Jaroslav Chmelař to Hartford.
You can't have it both ways. If you're going to contextualize goals like this to dismiss them then you can't ignore that he had awful shooting luck the first eight games.

Dorofeyev gets a garbage time deflection on the PP and that quells concerns?
Scraping the barrel here but some silver linings from tonight:
- Dorofeyev quells the worries that I think were frankly undeserved.
- Smits/Schneider looked pretty good.
