Self-opinionated (in a good way) polymath. All views and RT my own fault, not institutional.

All over the place!

Sir Jim Mackey, speaking at the board meeting today, cited improved GP access as a reason for an increase in referrals for secondary care earlier this year. Survey evidence suggests people are finding it easier to make appointments. He needs to look at the data @YvetteCooperMP

The idea that a government populated by ministers who, combined, have close to zero proper business experience, dribbling out small dollops of cash to companies they favour will play any role in finding ‘the UK’s first trillion-dollar firm’ really is one for the ages. If it ever happens it will be despite the government, not because of it. They really have no clue.
I want to find the UK’s first trillion-dollar firm. That’s why this morning I've unveiled our bespoke concierge service to support businesses of the future to start, scale, and stay in the UK. When I say I’m aggressively ambitious in pursuit of economic growth, I mean it.

Saint-Saens b otd 1835! What a polymath: pianist/ organist/conductor; poet/travel writer/playwright; philosopher/astronomer/classical scholar/animal rights activist, etc. And composer! For gravitas, try the Requiem; originality, the 2nd piano trio; melting beauty, Calme des nuits

German approach to fight climate change: 1. Close nuclear power plants 2. Keep coal mines and coal power plants going instead 3. Underreport coal mines emissions by factor of 184 4. Make energy intensive industries not profitable in the process Genius, simply genius

I chaired a meeting this morning on RAAC in schools. I understand the anxiety families feel and want to reassure parents that a vast majority of schools are unaffected. We've put in place extensive help for affected schools to minimise disruption.

The US dropped 270 million cluster bombs on Laos. "Every eight minutes, 24 hours a day, for nine years from 1964 until 1973, a planeload of cluster bombs was dropped on Laos by American B-52s." 50 years later, civilians (and children) are still being blown up by the bombs.

Oerhört svårt. Och mycket pinsamt av Generaldirektören. Ofattbart att han kunde lämna sin post utan en enda artikel eller någon kritik över detta. Sverige i ett nötskal.
