What is the status of the Palestinian citizens in Israel? Separate and Unequal. Here is a list of resources that illustrates their inferior status in a regime of Jewish supremacy: 🧵 1/n
This is utter nonsense, the Arabs are fully equal citizens. The nation-state law regulates the flag and anthem and simply declares that Israel cannot be transformed into a non-Jewish State because it is the only jewish state on earth.

Unqualified solidarity with all the people protesting around the world – but really important not to overly romanticise what others are doing, not to exaggerate what they can or may achieve, and not to rewrite history by invoking "68" as if it were not a world-historic failure

The inspirational actions of others should always be a spur to develop our own politics, but to do this in a way that learns from and builds towards the long-term

At no point in history did Israel have the moral high ground.
Obama, speaking in Northern Ireland this week: Israel "has lost the moral high ground in the Israeli-Palestinian conflict."

Supporting genocide, branding peaceful protestors terrorists, arresting pensioners, moving mountains to have Macabi Tel Aviv fans rampage through Birmingham, confected anti-semitism witchhunts, books removed from shelves - the crisis of Britain's political class is profound

I don’t say this lightly - but with the cost of everything going through the roof, wages flatlining, the right on the march and war on every horizon - if you’re a working class person with any sort of political commitment and energy you should join and build @This_is_Rise 👇✊

🚨 Reem Asaad Awad, a 33-year-old mother, was killed when an Israeli airstrike hit her family's apartment in Gaza City's Rimal neighborhood around 4am Wednesday, setting the building on fire. Videos circulating online show her young daughter being pulled out of the burning apartment. Footage from inside the apartment shows the girl sitting alone on a bed as smoke fills the room and fire burns the wall above her. In another shot she presses her hand to her mouth, eyes wide with terror. Israel said it was targeting a Hamas member but has provided no evidence.
Last night Israel burned a mother alive after bombing them in Gaza City. Her four year old daughter, screaming in horror as her burned to death in the same room, survived. There is no depth to Israel’s depravity & still the mendacious media regurgitates language of a ceasefire.

My feed is once again a split screen of burned, broken and terrified children in Gaza versus the UK political psychodrama about what can and cannot be said about the ideological engine of the Israeli government.

This one was truly a labour of love and went through multiple iterations. But I am so pleased that my paper “Ramsay MacDonald, Unicameralism, and the House of Lords; 1900-31” has been accepted for publication in @PL_PublicLaw. For me, MacDonald is the most fascinating and underrated political figure of the 20th century. He was one of those rare things, a *conservative* and *radical*. But away from his political career he was also an autodidact, substantive theorist, and arguably one of the biggest intellectual assets of the Labour movement. For three decades he released a plethora of articles, pamphlets, and books which revealed his own thinking on a wide range of subjects. When read in full, these publications amounted to, among other things, a wide-ranging assault on the British constitution. The paper’s task is simple. It explores how MacDonald’s theory of popular sovereignty informed his resistance towards the House of Lords and support for unicameralism 👇🏽👇🏽👇🏽

An inspiring book event yesterday at @SOAS with @FadyJoudah upon the publication of his "Exhibit G: Poems, Essays, and Photographs of Gaza" - a literary indictment of the genocide and a poetic rendering of a people's resilience amidst profound loss.
