i wanted to offer some reflections, and helpful considerations for others who can take this action. thread follows:
ALT “confirmation for the waiver of israeli citizenship” from for nadav gazit, effective august 7 2024
i scheduled my appointment to request the renunciation of my israeli citizenship months ago. last week i emailed to confirm it. this morning they canceled it because of a "safety incident" at the consulate. i don't buy it.
i was going to publish my letter anyway, so here it is:

ALT an email from nadav to consular services dating 10/30/23: hello, i have an appointment for next week, monday november 6 at 11:55am. i wanted to confirm that it would still be held. thank you, nadav
ALT email response from consulate on tuesdsay: greetings, i checked our system and you do have an appointment on november 6 at 11:55. best regards, omer, consulate general of israel, new york

Didn’t realize how many folks have no idea where Asheville and these other underwater towns are.
I’m in Raleigh- 2hrs inland. Asheville is 4hrs west of me, up in the blue ridge mountains. It was unthinkable that a hurricane could wipe out towns this far inland & high up.

48 hours left to say this man's life
This is it. We only have TWO DAYS to stop Missouri from executing #MarcellusWilliams, an innocent man.
Though @GovParsonMO's office is closed today, we can’t let a single moment go by where we’re not urging him to take action. Email, tweet, and contact his office now: bit.ly/3MT0OVh

Remember how Obama blocked the release of about 2000 photographs of torture and sexual abuse at Abu Ghraib, many of them of women and minors because it would inflame the American public opinion? These Haditha massacre photos have been released for the very first time today
U.S. Marines killed 24 civilians in Haditha, Iraq, and documented the aftermath. For years, the military has tried to keep the photos from the public. The New Yorker is now publishing newly obtained images. nyer.cm/TKVDwQC

Nothing to see here, just Doctors Without Borders saying Israel rejected their aid truck and they haven’t been able to bring medical supplies into Gaza for over two months.
Trucks carrying medical supplies denied entry into the #Gaza by the Israeli authorities on July 3 due to ongoing fighting in the south.
We have been unable to bring any medical supplies since the end of April.
Hospitals continue to grapple with acute shortages of supplies.

The US threatens global starvation because federal law mandates defunding the UN in the case of Palestine becoming a member state.
Difficult to see the US as anything other than pathologically evil - in the true moral sense - in its capacity & willingness to harm.
