I spoke with Marco Rubio @SecRubio, and it was a substantive conversation – focused on the issues that matter. I am grateful for his readiness to help and his clear position. First, ballistic missile interceptors, which are needed to protect lives. Second, early warning of Russian ballistic missile attacks, which is vital. Third, the situation with Starlink/Starshield, which needs to be restored. Of course, all of this comes against the backdrop of our diplomatic efforts to end this horrific war and the constant killing of people. We agreed to get in touch again soon for an update. Today, russia struck a public park in Nova Vodolaha, Ukraine’s Kharkiv region, killing six people: three women, one man, and two little girls born in 2015 and 2025.
Fifteen others were injured, including seven children.

Russian troops struck a central park in Nova Vodolaha when it was crowded with people. Families with children were spending time in the park.

Earlier today, Lavrov claimed that Russia had “never attacked civilian infrastructure in Ukraine unless it involved facilities that facilitate terrorist attacks in Russia.”

Russia struck a park near a cafe in the Kharkiv region with an attack drone, killing at least six people, including a girl barely over a year old and an 11-year-old child, and injuring 15 others, among them seven children. Families who had come to spend time together became the targets of another Russian brutal attack.
The deliberate use of attack drones against places where civilians gather exposes the nature of Russia’s warfare and the threat it poses far beyond Ukraine. The same technologies, components and networks that enable these attacks are part of a Russian military system that continues to adapt, expand production and exploit gaps in international restrictions. Allowing those supply chains to function means allowing Moscow to prepare its next strikes and kill civilians.
We urge our partners to intensify efforts to identify and disrupt the networks supplying Russia’s drone industry, tighten sanctions, enforce export controls against circumvention, and pursue accountability for those responsible for attacks on civilians. At the same time, Ukraine needs faster deliveries of interceptors to prevent further tragedies. The most effective response to this atrocity is to make the next Russian drone harder to build, harder to launch, and easier for Ukraine to destroy.

🇺🇦 Russland schickt eine Drohne in einen Park voller Familien: In Nowa Wodolaha bei Charkiw sind ein Säugling im Kinderwagen und zwei Frauen tot, mindestens 14 Menschen verletzt, sieben davon Kinder.
Der Einschlag kam am Montagnachmittag gegen 16:30 Uhr, mitten in der Zeit, in der Eltern mit ihren Kindern im Park sind. Innenminister Wyhowskyj spricht von einem Angriff ohne jeden militärischen Sinn. Die Staatsanwaltschaft Charkiw nennt vorläufig eine Geran-3 als Waffe.
Allein in der vergangenen Woche meldete Gouverneur Synehubow mehr als 700 abgeschossene Ziele über Stadt und Region Charkiw. Eine einzige Drohne, die durchkommt, reicht für einen Kinderwagen.
Wer über Luftabwehr streitet, sollte dieses Bild im Kopf haben.
