👏🤩 Footwork in defensive scenarios!
Very rarely see it being coached to young pros and yet to see it ever been coached on in non league. Moving your feet and taking that extra step before tackling, blocking or clearing the ball.
See it so often in the last 10 mins of games as people get tired. Reaching for clearances or lunging into tackles when that extra step would have kept your balance.
If you lack pace, the above and reading the game is enough to play a very good level.
If you have pace and do the above you will go clear 📈
Delighted to be onboard and get going🧡🖤 @stotfoldfc
🛡️ PIERCE MITCHELL JOINS THE FOLD
We’re pleased to confirm the signing of Pierce Mitchell ahead of the 2026/27 season. 🧡🖤
The versatile defender joins the club following his departure from Berkhamsted FC and arrives with a wealth of experience across the non-league pyramid.
A product of the Bristol City and Bristol Rovers youth systems, Pierce has gone on to represent clubs including Truro City, Frome Town, Taunton Town, Swindon Supermarine, Weston-super-Mare and Bath City, building an impressive record across the National League South and Southern League.
Comfortable at both centre-back and centre-midfield, Pierce brings leadership, composure and quality to the defensive unit, adding further strength and competition to the squad ahead of the new campaign.
We’re delighted to welcome Pierce to The Fold and look forward to seeing him in amber and black this season.

Good luck Pierce, brilliant last season defensively and popped up with a few important goals! You’ll be an asset wherever you land, they ought to be queuing up.

Top player and most of all top guy.
Wants to play week in week out & I genuinely respect that.
Will be a great asset to a club at step 3 or 4.
Thanks for every PDog 🫡 @piercemitchell1
Unfortunately, my time at Berko FC has come to an end. 💛💙
After moving to North West London and being at a stage in my career where I want to be playing every week, the gaffa and I agreed this was the best decision for both myself and the club.
Enjoyed every minute of last season and gutted we couldn’t make the jump to Step 2 through the play-offs. What a brilliant group of lads, management team and everyone behind the scenes at the club. ❤️
Having played the majority of my football in the South West over the last 10 years, I thought I’d put this out there and hopefully get a few conversations started about my next club.
A little about me:
⚽️ Over 400 appearances at Step 2 & Step 3 football across the last decade. (Just turned 30)
⚽️ Former pro at Bristol City & Bristol Rovers.
⚽️ 47 appearances in all competitions last season, injury-free.
⚽️Helped us secure the second-best defensive record in the Southern League Premier South last year.
Believe I can add real value both on the pitch and in the dressing room to a club with ambition and a winning mentality.
If you’d like a chat, please drop me a message. Or, if you want to make sure the above isn’t all bollocks, give @CDevane89 a call! 🤣👊🏼

Berkhamsted FC can confirm that the club and Pierce Mitchell have mutually agreed to part ways.
From the moment he arrived at Berko, Pierce embraced everything it means to wear the yellow and blue. His commitment, passion and professionalism never wavered, and he played an important part in establishing this club at step three last season.
Everyone at Berko would like to place on record our sincere thanks to Pierce for everything he has given, both on and off the pitch. Most notably his game winning performance against Taunton on Valentine’s Day.
While we’re sad to see his time at the club come to an end, we know he’ll continue to make an impact wherever his next chapter takes him.
From everyone at Berkhamsted FC, thank you, Pierce.
