An Iranian man left this comment on my YouTube channel. This is without a doubt the single best explanation of the reality facing Iranian people today👇 "As an Iranian, I can tell you the situation is no longer just political—it's existential. We are trapped between two collapsing structures: one internal, one external. On one hand, we face a deeply dysfunctional government, led by the Supreme Leader and the Islamic Republic’s unelected institutions. Decades of economic mismanagement, suppression of dissent, and brutal ideological control have alienated multiple generations. No one believes in reform anymore—because every attempt has either been co-opted or crushed. But here's the paradox: We are also terrified of regime collapse—because we've watched the aftermath of Western intervention in countries like Iraq, Libya, Syria, and Afghanistan. Each was promised freedom; each descended into chaos, civil war, or foreign occupation. So no, we don't trust the U.S. or Israel. Not because we support our regime—but because we know how imperial powers treat ‘liberated’ nations in the Middle East. Freedom, in their language, often means vacuum, fire, and permanent instability. Right now, many Iranians live with three truths at once: The Islamic Republic is morally and politically bankrupt. The alternatives offered by foreign actors are not liberation—they’re collapse. A bad government is survivable. No government is not. We are not silent because we agree. We are cautious because we’ve learned—too well—what happens when superpowers decide to "help." In a sentence: Iran is a nation held hostage by its own regime, but haunted by the fate of its neighbors. We are stuck in a house we hate, surrounded by fires we fear more."

Replying to @SkyIreland
@SkyIreland @SkyHelpIreland The promised call back today ( day 5 of no TV or internet) has not happened. Husband moved an important board meeting to facilitate it. Virtual assistant doesn't understand english. We're new clients from Virgin Media. I see us reverting to them.

Is there any #ombudsman who can protect customers from big companies like @skyireland taking our money without providing a service and insisting on dealing with only 1 account holder. That account holder has to wait on underfunded helplines for hours while trying to work.

Left my airpods at home before a 6 hour flight. Looks like it’s just me and my thoughts. Anyone have any starter thoughts for someone just getting into thinking?

I m not sure I can stay on this platform anymore. It is a cesspit of racism, sexism, weaponised "patriotism" and downright stupidity. Everything it's owner holds dear. It has become an echo chamber of hatred.

I got ChatGPT to do my Italian class homework for me recently. It got it wrong.
Me: "ChatGPT, are these berries poisonous?" ChatGPT: "No, these are 100% edible. Excellent for gut health." Me: "Awesome" # eats berries .... 60 minutes later Me: "ChatGPT, I'm in the emergency ward, those berries were poisonous." ChatGPT: "You're right. They are incredibly poisonous. Would you like me to list 10 other poisonous foods?" And this, folks, is the current state of AI reliability.

I loved this book so much. We share a complex mother-daughter relationship & I ve a fairly sparky bright daughter too. It held all that complexity & agony & glued it together with love & forgiveness.

If you feel like you're bad at your job and it's making you depressed, just consider that, as the investigation of the recent heist revealed, the password to access the Louvre's videosurveillance system was "Louvre".

I m at the stage of retirement where I'm looking out the window at the neighbour's garden contractor blowing leaves out their garden INTO the front of other neighbours & if I wasn't in C19 isolation & they didn't look like serial killers I would've gone out going full Victor

I remember my dad trying to comfort me when I had that first, horrible realization as a teenager that most people will not return the amount of effort that you put in to them and human relationships are complicated. He said, “I am sorry about that. That’s how it’s been most of my life, lots of friends have faded out. I’m getting old and it’s still like that.” “But you can’t stop investing in people, even if they eventually disappear out of your life.” That made me cry even more at the time, but ya know… he was right.

I love the happy stories ❤️
It’s midnight. A 24-week surprise delivery at 453 grams, just under a pound. The team present couldn’t get the breathing tube to fit. The mom recalls that I bolted in, placed it, and two doses of epinephrine later brought her daughter back. 129 days in the NICU: heart surgery, brain bleed, feeding tube, trach, eye treatments. A marathon of hurdles and hope. Today, Laiya is 13 and came back for a visit. She handed me the book she wrote (Laiya’s Land on Amazon), crushes karate and dance, plays piano and violin, and does well in school. Her mom’s fierce advocacy powers every victory. Laiya’s life is proof: give micro-preemies a chance, and miracles unfold. These tiny warriors teach more about resilience than any textbook ever could. Here’s to the fighters who defy the odds and to the people and encounters in life that change us forever. Pics and post approved courtesy of the family. Watch for the TIPQC podcast on this soon.

I remember finding taco bell sauce packets in a drawer of the refrigerator, and that's what I had to feed myself for and entire weekend when I was 8 years old I remember when I hid in a closet and ate bad sandwich meat at 2 a.m. when I was 14 Before she died, my mom used to tell this cute story about how she found me eating jarred salsa with a spoon when I was 3, I just "loved it so much," but what she didn't mention was that a jar in the fridge door was all there was for me to find for myself to survive on I have a lot of memories I never want children to be forced into reliving for the rest of their lives I don't know if it's brokenness or lack thereof that makes people so wicked, but I'm going to choose to be grateful that you don't know what it's like or hope you can overcome what has made you so rotten It's one thing to be a troll on the internet and another to actively advocate for the starvation of people you have deemed lesser than you No, I wasn't born to people who were the shining example of hard work and good choices, but I also starved just like you think I should have, and I will never be able to forget it $35 a year to prevent that for even a single child I will never meet will be money well spent This is the only trauma dump I will ever write; I hope that it finds you well, and you truly consider what hunger means for millions of children born to parents and conditions out of their control
