I hereby like to coin the term "Framework Imperialism". This can be used to describe the phenomenon that a framework takes something that's free (in the sense of independent, as well as created and maintained pro bono), and claims it as its own.

A very important vote is happening now in the @phpfig! A restructuring of the bylaws to allow for living documents; to be called PERs - or PHP Evolving Recommendations.
This vote requires a quorum and 2/3 majority from the core committee, and a 2/3 majority from project reps

🙃And boom! Edited PSR-12 and happily got my last PR merged! Despite the recent schism in the maintainers regarding the opionionated turns of some PSRs, this one is another great step for @phpfig. Proud and happy to be a part of this.

Just had a great call with some awesome people [well-known security leaders and project & security leads of some of the largest PHP projects in the world] about the formation of a security working group under the @phpfig
The aim? Lets make the PHP & the web more secure!

I think the best example of this is @phpfig
I have no knowledge of any other community that sits together like this, each with different backgrounds and frameworks, and try to build standards, build bridges between those frameworks

It's so awesome to see different parts of the PHP Community coming together to talk about security in the @phpfig. Really looking forward to working on PSR-9 & 10 and seeing how else we can work together to make the web more secure.

This led to autoloader standardization in PHP across major frameworks and a bunch of goodness via @phpfig. Remember what it was like when every PHP project shipped their own autoloader??? It was rough.
