I (@prvkhvr ) asked @BenLamm , founder of @colossal - how the artificial womb work actually happens.
How they set up the environment, how an embryo grows outside a body, what they track, what can break, what they’ve already solved.
Surreal stuff. Almost science-fictiony.

Spoke with @benlamm, founder of @colossal. The work they’re doing in de-extinction is unlike anything else.
He broke down how de-extinction actually works and the science behind artificial wombs.
We got into how they revived species like the dire wolf, and I also asked him about the possibility of bringing back dinosaurs.
Also went over where this field might be headed—how synthetic biology, beyond de-extinction, could solve real problems in conservation, health, and manufacturing.

I (@prvkhvr ) asked Ben the dinosaur question.
Felt fair — you talk de-extinction, you eventually end up there.
What struck me in this exchange is how far public imagination is from real biology.
Most of us grew up on Jurassic Park, so we carry this assumption that “ancient = preserved = maybe possible?".
It’s bounded by the physics of DNA decay, by what survives time, by what can actually be reconstructed without making things up.
Good moment (out of many) in the conversation.
