Re: the Kushner story This key technical portion makes virtually no sense

I spoke with Roman Sannikov, who’s spent decades navigating Russian cybercrime. He began as an interpreter/translator - the youngest Russian linguist at the FBI, thrust into the world of cybercrime because of his IT skills.

Roman has enormous expertise in the depths of Russian threat activity: ransomware, infostealers, APTs, and more. In our chat he offers insights into Russian criminal actors' manipulation of Western LLMs, even ones with guardrails!

Excelente hilo

You know what really pisses me off? When I’m zoomed all the way in on a road in Google Maps and it won’t show me the fucking road name, I have to scroll around until I find a label somewhere else. If I’m zoomed in on the road, just show me the name of the road @googlemaps

Current state of DC China "analysis": outcompete everyone else with the most unhinged, cartoonishly hawkish takes

Is @OpenAI really announcing AGI with GPT 6 Astra?

And now @GeminiApp announces this...let's see how it turns out blog.google/innovation-and-a…
Update: Gemini 3.7 is also deeply 👎, at least on @antigravity Working with URLs is virtually impossible. Almost entirely hallucinated. There seems to be no grounding of any kind even when explicitly demanded

Now it's official: my new book, Decoding Cybersecurity, is out today September 1st. I'll share a little on how it came about. I published one book before this one: 2014's The Robin Hood Guerrillas/Patria para Nadie, a comprehensive history of Uruguay's MLN-Tupamaros urban guerrillas. So I definitely took some time between publications.

The book is designed to be versatile. If you're already in the industry, you may find yourself learning about an aspect of it you'd never thought of. Random example: I worked 8 years in cyber before I ever looked in any detail at session cookies. Professionals with a lack of knowledge/experience in cyber should benefit even more. It will definitely serve Anglosphere + European audiences, but of course there are some Latin America-specific insights as well. No Spanish-language edition on the horizon...for now.
