Honored to host and discuss security matters with @Georgetown School of Foreign Service students, beside Professors Flanagan and @sb_moller. Critical moments require “esprit critique”; the Defense Office decrypts French military posture and 🇫🇷🇺🇸 operational trust across history.

Georgetown University’s Center for Security Studies, @GeorgetownCSS, hosted a great event this month focused on NATO’s Eastern Flank: “Crosswinds from the Eastern Flank: U.S. Commitments to NATO in Trump 2.0”. I was invited to deliver the keynote address and I talked about the challenges we face, but also about Romania’s defense investments, our key role in the defense of the Eastern Flank and in contributing to a secure and prosperous Black Sea region.  The event featured an expert panel that included think-tank representatives from CEPA, Atlantic Council, Stimson Center and Hudson Institute.  I am grateful to all of them for contributing to elevating the profile of the Eastern Flank in the midst of Georgetown’s academic community.

It was a pleasure to host @GenkennethFMcK4 for a discussion on his new book, “The Melting Point: High Command and War in the 21st Century." It was a packed house in @MortaraCenter as we heard about the General's time as the Commander of U.S. Central Command.
