Today, I am proud to take the Vice President’s pledge and join President Trump and Vice President Vance in the fight against fraud. Together, we have worked to ensure taxpayer funded benefit programs serve law abiding Americans, protect taxpayer dollars, and hold fraudsters accountable.

As a senior member of the House Financial Services Committee, I am focused on protecting Americans and taxpayers from fraud, waste, and abuse. Concerned Women for America LAC released its 119th Congress scorecard, and I was honored to earn an A+ voting record. I am grateful for this recognition and will continue standing for the values we share: defending life and family, protecting children, preserving women’s sports and spaces, upholding religious liberty and national sovereignty, and supporting Israel.

Rural communities across Texas deserve access to quality, affordable healthcare without having to travel long distances to receive it. This $78 million investment through the Rural Health Transformation Program will help 216 rural healthcare providers strengthen their operations, recruit and retain qualified medical professionals, and expand access to essential services. From improving medical facilities and equipment to addressing chronic diseases, this funding will make a meaningful difference for hardworking Texas families. The reported plot targeting Hindu Americans at a temple in Illinois is deeply concerning. No American should ever have to fear for their safety because of their religious beliefs. Religious freedom is a fundamental right. I stand with the Hindu American community and support efforts to protect all Americans from religious violence and intimidation.

Thank you to the Greater Waco Chamber of Commerce for hosting me for the State of the Nation. I spoke about tax relief for working Americans, efforts to combat fraud and improper payments, and the need for stronger accountability across the federal government. I also addressed border security and the importance of restoring control at the southern border. Three years ago today, Hamas launched the brutal October 7 terrorist attack, killing more than a thousand innocent people and taking 251 hostages. Today, we remember the victims, their families, and all those whose lives were forever changed. America stands with Israel and the Israeli people against terrorism. We will never forget those who lost their lives on October 7 or the hostages who never returned home.

October is Down Syndrome Awareness Month. As a parent of a child with Down syndrome, I believe every child with Down syndrome is a gift from God that should be cherished and loved. To all parents of children with Down syndrome, I commend your hard work and dedication in embracing this beautiful journey. October is Breast Cancer Awareness Month, a time to recognize the women and families affected by breast cancer, along with the doctors, nurses, researchers, and caregivers who stand beside them. This month, take time to learn about your risk, prioritize preventive care, and speak with your healthcare provider about the screenings that are right for you.  Encourage your loved ones to do the same, and continue supporting those facing this devastating disease.
