We’re pleased to announce that proceeds from the live stream of Sunday’s Legacy Game will be donated to the families of PC Matthew Blades and PC Tom Clough. There has been an outpouring of community support for the families of the two police officers, whose lives were tragically lost in the line of duty in August. MFC hope this contribution can offer some support to the two families in the wake of Sunday’s Legacy Game, which was staged as part of our 150th anniversary celebrations. A full house were at the Riverside for the event, and several thousand more from around the world tuned in via our live streaming service, Boro LIVE.

When an Officer Doesn’t Come Home They left for duty, brave and true, To guard the many, protect the few. A final shift, a last goodbye No one imagined the reason why. The uniform rests, the radio still, A silence falls no words can fill. Behind the badge, a husband and dad, A treasured friend and colleague we had. Though one officer has not come home, His family will never stand alone. His courage lives, his watch is done Forever remembered by everyone. Rest now, Matthew, your duty is through. Your town stands united in honouring you. RIP Matthew Blades 💙

A final piece of advice from Holly Butcher - written the day before she passed away from cancer at just 27: “It’s a strange thing knowing you’re going to die young. At 26, I thought I had time… To fall in love. Start a family. Grow old. But cancer doesn’t care about plans. Now, I understand how fragile life really is. Every single day is a gift, not a guarantee. I’m not writing this to scare you. I’m writing to remind you: really live. Stop stressing over little things. Be kind to your body- move it, nourish it, stop criticizing it. One day you’ll wish you had appreciated it. Go outside. Look at the sky. Feel the sun. Just be. Spend less time chasing “stuff” - more time making memories. Don’t skip moments with people you love. Laugh more. Write a note. Tell someone you love them. Complain less. Give more. Helping others brings more joy than anything you can buy. Be present. Put your phone down. Show up - really show up. You don’t need to have it all figured out. You don’t need a perfect body, or a perfect life. Just follow what makes your heart light up. Say no to what drains you. Make changes when you need to. And please - donate blood. I wouldn’t have had that extra year without it. And that year gave me memories I’ll hold close… forever. Thank you for reading this. Live your life well. And maybe… we’ll meet again someday.” Holly 🩷 Repost & share Holly’s important advice. ❤️

Despite all the twists and turns this was the Championship 12 games ago. Cov are one point further ahead. Born second but doubled GD. Ipswich two points behind and a game in hand. Millwall have made up a point on Boro. The more things change the more they stay the same…

Back in 1979, I believe Brian Clough gave his best interview with John Motson asking the questions. Cloughie was in great form. They should show this interview to the likes of Sky, TNT, Match Of The Day, etc., because their presenters and so-called pundits would probably learn a thing or two from the great man. Because let’s face it…he was right!

Today is World Mental Health Day, and we want to take this opportunity to reaffirm our steadfast support for Andy’s Man Club UK. They’ve been our chosen charity since 2019, and as long as this page exists, that support will remain. @andysmanclubuk provides an invaluable service to men across the UK—helping save lives through the power of conversation. Just this past Monday, 5,062 men attended their weekly talking groups, with 470 of them taking part for the first time. These groups offer a much-needed safe space for men to talk openly and confidentially with others who understand the challenges they face. As part of today’s message, we’d like to encourage other social media pages, especially those with large followings, to consider promoting mental health awareness. •If you run a business page, why not chat with your boss about making mental health a part of your content strategy? •Do you work for a social media agency managing multiple accounts? Maybe approach your clients about raising awareness for mental health on their platforms. •Are you an admin of a large Facebook group (like adidas groups)? Perhaps mental health could become a regular topic of discussion. There are incredible charities out there working tirelessly to support those in need. A little extra exposure through social media could go a long way in reaching someone who might desperately need it. It costs nothing to share, but it could make all the difference to someone. Please retweet and feel free to tag anyone who might need to see this. Andys Man Club - andysmanclub.co.uk – Weekly Monday night meetings.
