Ego is an engine running on its own, not on outside validation. Self belief that doesn’t ask anyone’s permission to exist, doesn’t wait for applause to confirm it’s allowed to be there. It just runs quietly, constantly, underneath under decision they make.

It’s not aggression, it’s just honesty with none of the usual padding around it. It’s crude, unrefined self belief. It’s offensive to others because they don’t have that belief in themselves, so they rebuke and ostracize you to make themselves feel better.
