Kler Lwee Htoo District – Shelling, Death and Injury On July 1st, 2024, at around 2:30 pm, SAC (LIB) #599 and (LIB) #590 soldiers, based in Tha Si village, fired two rounds of 60 mm mortar shells into Naung Cho village, Moo village tract, Moo Township, Kler Lwee Htoo District. One of the mortar shells landed on a villager's house, killing the parents and injuring their three children, aged 17, 8 and 2, and their 17-year-old nephew. The injured were sent to the hospital for medical treatment. According to a local villager, SAC conducted shelling since they heard there was a religious ceremony in the village monastery that day. After the incident happened, villagers around the area had to live in fear and some of them fled to other places for their safety. Dooplaya District – Drone strike, Death and Damages On 31st May, 2024, SAC soldiers conducted an attack using a drone (unmanned aerial vehicle – UAV) against Ta Maing Kon village, Maung Ma Ywa Thit village tract, Kaw T’Ree Township, Dooplaya District. The drone attack killed a 19-year-old boy and injured another 14-year-old boy. Two cars were also destroyed in the attack. The villagers are suffering greatly and continue to live in fear, anticipating the next strike without warning.
