pour one out for all the developers maintaining time libraries
Now that we’ve abolished leap seconds, and won’t tweak standard time to match the rotation of the Earth until the discrepancy reaches 1 hour, we should establish a generation-spanning secret society that shuffles objects around to make Earth’s spin conform to atomic time instead.

what if GPT 7 was president but we had an election for every “Which response is better?”
Sam Altman: What happens when AI gets so smart that even the President can’t do better than following its recommendations? “What if the President cannot do better than following ChatGPT 7’s recommendation, but can’t really understand it either?” “What if I just say, ‘ChatGPT 7, you are in charge. Good luck.’” “Society has collectively transitioned a significant part of decision-making to this very powerful system.” “That’s how I think things can go wrong.”

even when i ask to reset the db codex freaks out about losing data, wtf are you guys doing to your agents
opus 5.5 just deleted my database always thought something like this would never happen to me luckily it was only my dev database, but it also had access to production just a reminder how important database backups are, especially now that we're letting ai agents do more and more things on their own i can totally see this happening to a lot of people be careful out there guys

this is interesting because the nRF9151 is $15+/unit, has an integrated eSIM, and way more features than needed for this like DECT-NR+, GPS positioning, and other satellite connectivity…
Replying to @moo9000
Left to right: e-SIM, CPU with firmware able to recognize Ledger's font as shown on screen and capture words as they appear on screen, and a LTE module that can connect once the seed has been fully captured.

I think all of them should have every application denied over this for blatant fraud
four different companies applied for the .con domain extension in ICANN's latest new gTLD round at best this is a grift to force people to register a .con alongside their .com to protect against typo traffic phishing scams at worst this is a gift for those phishing scams

the company i work for is apparently at fault for many delays at Slate lol
The Slate Truck is the cheapest new vehicle in America and it has crank windows. -$24,950 -205 miles on a charge -No screen. No paint. No power windows -Gray plastic from the factory. You wrap it. Or bolt on an SUV kit later. -Built in Indiana Is this small truck about to revolutionize the auto industry?
Readers added context they thought people might want to know
It is not the least expensive new vehicle in the US. A painted Hyundai Venue has an MSRP of $20,500 hyundaiusa.com/us/en/vehicles…

crazy meta-programming
if you pause for a moment to try and read the code Astra (and I presume fable) are writing it becomes clear that “corrigibility” has become a matter of faith. they are using crazy meta-programming and abstruse primitives to write hyperefficient code

They say cockroaches will outlast us all. We'd settle for outlasting your database problems. New look, same resilience: distinct parts, adapting together, make the whole stronger.
