There are a ton of threads and advice on Twitter. But the best advice I can give you is just build something. Use a tutorial to start, change it into something you want. You will never learn more and as fast as you do, building something of your own

#rstudioconf2022 was so busy talking about R & Python we overlooked a WAY CRAZIER combo in @quarto_pub: R & @observablehq! 🤯 We can do #rstats stuff in one chunk and DIRECTLY PASS THAT into an observable chunk for plotting!? I can fangirl D3 and R in ONE notebook! Blogging ASAP

Join me in an hour for my discussion with @pbesh about what it takes to become a successful data visualization engineer! #datavisualizaiton
Tomorrow for my next #vizcareers interview, I'm hosting @pbesh, Staff #Datavisualization Engineer in @NetflixEng. His career journey intersects with so many early trends in 3rd Wave #Dataviz like #D3js, @OpenVisConf, dataviz pioneer @bocoup and more.

This is 💯🔥.
Somehow I wasn't aware of how awesome @observablehq is. Clearly makes it very easy to do your data work, like writing an #rstats markdown notebook but in #javascript.
And @pbesh's tidy.js makes it feel like R's #tidyverse.
Seriously my mind is blown.
🎥🔴📣 Going to try my hand at streaming web-appy dataviz hijinks on Twitch! Aiming for Mondays and Wednesdays 5-7pm PT with an initial test stream this weekend.
Will it be entertaining or a train-wreck? Find out for yourself at twitch.tv/pbeshai 🥳 smash that follow thx

Excited to release a big update to the @opensyllabus Galaxy visualization today, which shows node2vec -> UMAP embeddings of the OS citation graph. Now showing the 1.1M most-assigned works. Using the @RAPIDSai UMAP implementation, which is amazing! galaxy.opensyllabus.org/

Check out tidy.js, built by @pbesh and which we use to improve our data wrangling in visualization apps!
🚀 Happy to release tidy.js today on npm. Inspired by the tidyverse and dplyr, tidy.js aims to bring the ergonomics of data wrangling from #Rstats to the js (and typescript) community.
