In toxic cultures, being a workaholic is normalized and sacrificing sleep is glorified. The best way to get ahead is to burn out. In healthy cultures, quality of life is expected and having a life is celebrated. You're encouraged to put your well-being above your work.

New changes to the highway code. 🤔 But honestly…when cycling I think the best way to avoid a left or a right hook is to stay behind the leading car.
Sunset at Taipei Medical University Hospital
Days later, as I round in the hospital, I find myself glancing at his room number when I walk past it. Remembering. The longer you practice medicine, the more faces never leave you. The more memories linger. “What did it take?” Nothing at all. Time. Every last thing.

This week in ICU, we’ve got a lot of COVID- currently around half our level 3 (ventilator) beds are filled with patients with COVID. A lot of the patients are double vaccinated, and pressures are rising from other conditions.
