That would be worrying but:
"Civil servants" that hosted Al Qaeda terrorists are favored by the current establishment.
Generals who were convicted of espionage for the CIA were pardoned.

This makes it easier for enemies to:
-Recruit spies.
-Incite insurgencies and sabotage campaigns.
-Lobby against you internationally.

The most dishonest takes on the imposition of emergency here would start off by normalizing the emergency: “Now that an emergency has been imposed,” and then adding their honest advice on how “it is an opportunity to fix…” and then concluding with a sense of urgency: “It is time to deliver.”
Such takes address everything except the elephant in the room, and they are not just naive takes. They serve to normalize tyranny by giving it an intellectul cover.

Displacing a duly elected assembly with a two thirds majority, in favour of a council of the usual, rootless suspects, will only harm Khyber Pakhtunkhwa and its people. Emergency doesn’t ‘build consensus’, or anything else.
