I’ve been lamenting just five hours on campus, but sadly reading this I realize how much better off my kids will be than others in OUSD. It’s pathetic this is the state of things when other districts have proven it’s safe to teach in person. Sad for kids who can’t go back 3/30.
Accurate summary of how dysfunctional SFUSD and OUSD have been with respect to reopening. Thank you @jilltucker for making it clear (without bias) what an outlier our districts are and how angry and frustrated parents are. Great quotes by @laura @timadge4

Five hours per week is simply unacceptable. We continue to ask @OUSDNews to please bring students back five days per week and to expand in-person to additional grades. Neighboring districts offer more, we should, too. #OpenSchools @OUSD_Parents

Fixing every problem that ever existed in education should not be preventing us from opening schools now.
Use simple mitigations that have proven successful all over the world. Vaccinate teachers. Get kids back in school. Today.
Tomorrow, we resume the fight for wider reforms.

Must read OpEd from the authors of the recent, peer-reviewed study showing 3-ft is safe.
