The situation in Gaza right now is catastrophic to a level we are not even seeing bc all the journalists have been murdered. Donations for Sameer Project have plummeted at the time they need them most. Transporting one family south is costing thousands of dollars.
Schools have turned into shelters for the displaced in Gaza and even those are often bombed, donate: chuffed.org/project/113222-t…. Not a single place in Gaza is safe and there’s no such thing as a safe zone.
2,540 meals of rice were distributed by the Sameer Project on August 6th feeding around 7,620 people. Total cost was $14,345 with 11% commission.
600 meals were given to the school shelter in Nuseirat and surrounding camps and more meals were given to camps in Deir El Balah. The civil defense team gets their 40 daily rice meals as well.
Donate to the South campaign for more food distributions: chuffed.org/project/113222-t…

Do not look at the amount raised and think they have enough. This is 2 years of genocide and the occupiers coordinate with their collaborators on the ground to keep prices high intentionally. They're spending every amount they receive to survive. Give them anything you can.

By donating to the spotlight campaign instead of choosing at random, you allow the donations to be spread out so our people don't have to constantly beg for your attention online, a dehumanizing act that no one should have to do, let alone under bombardment and starvation.

There are 268 stagnant fundraisers on the GF website today.
We encourage people to donate to the first campaign that comes up on the site because it will be a campaign that desperately needs your help.

For those of you waiting on the new anthology. It was already uploaded when one of the contributors decided that they needed to withdraw their work due to the press` stance on Palestine. Needless to say, this is no small ask at this point and it´s also more than disheartening.

Published last year in @overtlylit, my poem, "Proverbs 23:10," part of a series of golden shovels using biblical text.
The verse: "Do not remove an ancient landmark or encroach on the fields of orphans."
Christians who support Israel's genocide, I ask you to reflect.
ALT Proverbs 23:10 Watch what they do. Occupying forces will not reveal all they remove by force, but—video: an IDF tank defacing ancient al-Katiba park, landmark of common green space—or, video: the rapid encroach of settlers, driven on by desire to possess, the bombed, burning fields— We must speak truly of how they became orphans.
