Words cannot describe how much the loss of Victoria, an incredibly gifted and selfless writer and friend, means to us. She will be deeply missed. #VictoriaAmelina

I don’t think I’ve ever seen an athlete so deep inside themselves. Totally *there* but not at all available to the rain or crowds or absolute chaos all around. Kipchoge off lead pack in the hills, but damn still Kipchoge. @HeartbreakRunCo

Reese & Clark are exceptional athletes playing on the biggest stage & in the most stratospheric moment of their young careers so far. Their competitive 🔥 is not unsportsmanlike. If they were men, would the news be *this* consumed by chippy hand gestures? Gimme a break. Truly.

Restaurant industry nepo baby here. I understood how much anxiety The Bear caused you this year w/o having to watch it. No wonder I started doing yoga & meditation at age 16! 😅🙏

I wrote an essay about life, death, middle age, & not being able to sleep at 4 AM. It's lighter than it sounds, I promise! 😆 And featured in the newest volume of @arrowsmithpress. No pay wall. Enjoy! ✏️ arrowsmithpress.com/middle-l…

Reflections on the Middle of Life — ARROWSMITH

I currently reside in middle age, though the term seems presumptuous.

Same handle on IG: @omgal because that was the name of the blog that started it all— a New Year’s resolution in 2009 to write more. It worked! If this is it: THANK YOU, friends, readers, writers, runners, & yogis. 🙏💗

Hello. Young kids back in school are so sick right now. Everyone with a preschooler has an entire household of sleepless viral cough snot fevers for the past two months without a fucking break. So if you know a parent going through this, be kind and gently hit them with your car.
Thinking of you & yours @vamelina. Safekeeping to everyone captured in this tender moment. 🙏

I wish you all could understand Ukrainian and so appreciate this unique tenderness, hardly translatable to any other language I know, when the local women call Ukrainian soldiers "our boys", "khlopchyky" and ask permission to hug them. #Kherson region is so very #Ukraine.

We need a “come to Jesus” moment on how abortion is discussed in the media because when you report on it instead of pontificate on it it’s clear that abortion is: A parenting issue An economic issue A family values issue A “kitchen table” issue A health care issue A voting issue

I still don’t know how to dress for events post-pandemic, but I’m excited about this! See you there?

I did a mindfulness thing with @omgal a few years ago and she asked the room when they’re most present in a moment and almost everyone (myself included) said first sips of morning coffee. 🧘🏻‍♀️

I took this photo of 3 poetry legends: @naviyuk, @carolynforche, & Fanny Howe in a room where Sylvia Plath & Anne Sexton once wrote & studied. It was peak word nerd and I will treasure it forever. 🙏💗✏️

Is anyone exploring in writing how wild it is that the Duchess has a pod centering the voices of women & often baring her soul while the Princess rarely speaks and emotes only in a manner consistent w/ the wishes of the crown? Talk about dramatic foils.
