We love playing with visionOS widgets and here's an example of Shane Brown and I exploring how simple status information can shortcut to richer 3D data visualisation. #visionos #widgets #spatialcomputing #applevisionpro #datavisualisation #3D

The best Vision Pro projects won't be built by one person.
That's why today we're launching Mount Hood, an international dream team of 18 developers, 3D designers, immersive filmmakers, and creators, ready to bring any kind of Vision Pro project to life.
This gives companies the opportunity to create ambitious native Vision Pro experiences with exceptional performance and quality.
We've also created a fun website where you can learn more about the people and skills behind the Spatial Computing Agency.
Amazing to watch Evan Spiegel launch the new Specs at AWE. A huge refinement on the on Hardware Dev Kit and they look like they're going to be great to create Lenses with. Going to be great chatting with the team and community about them this week. See specs.com/

If you're curious like me, here is the number of apps released per month made specifically for visionOS (so it does not include the thousands of 2D apps compatible with it).
The launch surge in Feb 2024 was real, but so was the cliff right after. Since then, the ecosystem has settled into a steady cadence of ~20 to 45 new native apps per month.
And keep in mind: this is only public App Store releases. Most of what's actually being built today is for enterprises and barely makes the news.
With visionOS 27 coming this year and a next-generation Vision Pro potentially landing within the next two years, the devs building now will be ready when the hardware catches up.
I’m doing a recap of the visionOS/spatial computing talks from Let’s Vision in Shanghai last month, both online (YouTube) and in person, at Cocoaheads Sydney.

What’s the difference btwn the many device types supported by Android XR? Google have been presenting different groups of devices, from AI smartglasses to spatial computing headsets. We've created an overview of all the device types together & their main differences.
Speakers announced for the Let's Vision conference at the end of March in Shanghai. It's always an amazing speaker line-up and wonderful chance for the #visionOS community to come together. Speakers, tickets and more details: letsvision.swiftgg.team cc: @SwiftSIQI
My 2026 will kick off with a talk on "Widgets! The entry into, and future of, Spatial Computing" at AWE Asia in February in Singapore. There is so much potential for spatially anchored, glanceable, information visualisation: aweasia.com/
