After Helene, North Carolina was the fastest state to seek support from @fema to buy out damaged homes after a major hurricane in more than two decades. I am grateful that FEMA dollars are continuing to get out the door faster and into communities in North Carolina. More than $40 million from FEMA is on the way to support ongoing storm recovery projects across the state as we continue to rebuild more resiliently against future storms.

Profound: Our culture has accepted two huge lies:
1. If you disagree with someone’s lifestyle, you must fear or hate them.
2. To Love someone means you agree with everything they believe and do.
Both of these concepts are nonsense. You do not have to compromise your personal convictions to be compassionate.l

Science Camp 2026 was a blast! We teamed up with Discovery Education for standards-driven, hands-on learning tailored to our school’s needs. Our students explored erosion vs. weathering and the phases of the moon. It was a great day of diving into science! #YourBestChoiceMDCPS

North Carolina already faces challenges in addressing our state’s significant nursing shortage, especially in rural communities. The U.S. Department of Education’s decision to not to consider many health care programs as professional degree programs will make it harder for people who want pursue careers in health care.
Strengthening our workforce pipeline will make North Carolina safer and healthier.
Thank you to @NC_Governor.
NCNA opposes the federal proposal to cap student loans for nurses at $100,000. We should be encouraging as many qualified nursing students as possible to go into this profession; this proposal could have a major impact on keeping the pipeline open.

In response to a reporters question: : "At Christmas, the most difficult message, in my opinion, is the message that salvation is for all people. We tend to categorize people and develop reasons why some are or are not "worthy." That we consider ourselves able to judge who are the "haves" and who are the "have nots" is the biggest hurdle and greatest obstacle to the message of Christmas. The message of Christmas is that we'll find a fragile, wide-eyed baby looking at us and asking us to love him, at Bethlehem that baby was Jesus. In loving him, we love God. Today, that means that we, in loving others, love God. In fact, God is in the spiritual DNA of everyone!" Fr. Jim Sichko

I am speechless in my anger. Each of these degrees are primarily held by women. Under the Big Beautiful Bill, the Republicans have made it to where beginning in 2028, all student loans are capped for professional, medical, undergraduate, and law degrees. $100,000 for professional degrees and $200,000 for medical and law degrees. NEITHER OF WHICH IS ENOUGH. But now, Linda McMahon, who has no experience with education, is acting on the Project 2025 plan to remove women from the workforce. By eliminating the classification of professional degree for these, you CANNOT QUALIFY FOR FINANCIAL AID FOR THEM.

All wiped out in a generation. This will decimate the country. This is the end of our healthcare system. We are already in a 50 year shortage on doctors and nurses. The average PCP and OBGYN are 51 and 54 respectively.
Trump supporters can never ben forgiven for this.
