I'm giving @cohost_org a try. If any of my mutuals are active over there at the moment, feel free to share your account name with me here or in a dm so I can follow you!
It's so exciting being almost finished with your thesis! Today I'm working on a couple of small items on my to-do list:
- make above paragraph more logical
- find a reference or remove that claim
- make section title make sense
Have been reading and writing about semantics for two weeks nonstop and am catching myself producing highly normal sentences like "only entities which possess a head or something that can be construed as one have the ability to nod"
My favorite social media platform at the moment is the letterbox on our local playground soliciting suggestions from kids and other playground users for the planned modernization of the playground

just made a "decentralized" "alternative" to twitter; everyone should go "join" it
to make an account: fork github.com/diracdeltas/tweet…

to follow someone: git remote add <alias> <their fork url>
to retweet: git cherry-pick <their "tweet">

To all of you moving away from this platform and towards Mastodon: I'm happy that you still want to watch my posts, but you should know that I will not allow you to follow my account on oulipo.social and will not follow you if you post anything containing an "e"

Millennial: OK, I've done the 10-day isolation, PCR was negative two days ago, so were both of today's LFTs. I'll walk 14 miles back now for Xmas so I don't have to be exposed to anyone.
Boomer parent: You'll have to speak up, pub's very busy because of the face-licking contest

Recently I convinced the institute to let me buy pizza for the campus once a month, not as a moral boosting strategy, but as bait.
Today with the postdoc committee, I hosted the first Pizza Solves Everything event
