I mentioned Hiranmoy Ghoshal, and his astonishing career. The Polish publishers were surprised and very interested. We were wondering if his works, especially his diaries, have been translated into Polish. Also, where might one find his already published works? Thank you.

Hello Ms Ghoshal. I am Abhijit Gupta: I teach English at Jadavpur University, and look after Jadavpur University Press. Earlier this week, I was at the Frankfurt Book Fair, where I met Polish publishers, such as Znak, among others.
Revisiting M. John Harrison's oeuvre with The Course of the Heart which I had not read before. What a weirdly wonderful piece of writing.

Ahaha, this is great. There seems to be no reference at all to the RALPINS cooker. Is there a cooker still existing in the family?

I did not know about the RALPINS cooker. Tell more.
Delighted to see M. John Harrison in the Booker longlist--without doubt one of the most brilliant novelists in the English language over the last half century.
You mean the 1943 famines? Tagore was dead for two years by then. The Kuka rebels were blown from cannons in 1872, when Tagore was all of 11. Please, please, get your dates right.
Also, post-Amritsar, Tagore was one of the very few to excoriate the British over the massacre, which led to a distinctly frosty welcome next time he was in England.
Er, the Amritsar massacre was in 1919; he got the Nobel in 1913. He was a genius in many disciplines, but had not, to the best of my knowledge, invented a time machine.
