Hundred percent agree with this.
If you have a look online, he was not able to get NDIS support and could not afford his medication for chronic pain. I imagine he was self medicating - that's generally what leads to schizophrenia in the absence of a medical history of it.
And then there is justice, and police. He had hit someone in the head in Woolies with a brick prior to this event.

Is it time yet to talk about how the media demonises the issue of mental health..🤔

A staff member of the Embassy had a lovely encounter with an echidna during a hike! 🦔🇦🇺 What a wonderful surprise to come across one of Australia’s most unique animals — a rare egg-laying mammal! 🌿

Can Special Envoy Jillian Segal be removed?
Yes, because the Special Envoy is a government-appointed position, the Prime Minister can choose to terminate or not renew appointment.
Despite numerous petitions calling for her removal, PM Albanese has reaffirmed his full confidence

This will be a cracker of a case (Herzog protesters who were brutalised by police). A win for Nick Hanna as the judge rules docs and comms he requested will have to be produced, including comms between Police and the Premier.

If it keeps going at this rate, we might, for (I think) the first time in history, be about to witness the first continent-wide youth revolt in Europe - a "European spring" of sorts.
The sheer number of countries where it's **already** happening is pretty overwhelming. I count 8, including 4 with violent clashes:
- France, famously
- Albania (see below) with daily clashes in Tirana and a government building set alight
- Belgium: the French movement spilled over, including riots in Liège
- Italy: "No Meloni Day" student protests since 16 October, turning into riots in Milan, Turin and Bologna
- Greece: students camping in Athens' Syntagma Square over housing and education costs, explicitly inspired by France
- Germany: pupils blockading schools in Berlin and Hamburg in solidarity with France
- Spain: an indefinite education strike in Madrid, with students marching alongside teachers and families
- Serbia: the student movement born from the 2024 Novi Sad station collapse is now running its own list in the 25 October election
And, by the way, the fact it's also happening in countries with close to no immigration - like Albania - goes to show how reductive it is to label these movements, like JD Vance and Trump did with France, as the fruit of "the migrants hav[ing] taken over."
As is often the case, it's much more a story of "it's the economy, stupid." As such, Trump with his war on Iran, has ironically done much more to fuel this (pun intended) than any migrant.

Brilliant opening address at #NPC by Sen @DavidPocock, reflecting on @helenhainesindi, her example, need to turn away from violence & hateful dialogue, shared passion for more progressive democracy beyond two party system. Big ambitions for better systems for all Australians

The butterfly is beautiful on its own, but I didn’t expect to see its delicate wings turned into a chair. Nature really does inspire some of the coolest designs.

This little oyster holding a pearl is such a cute design. The soft blue crystal makes it look even more beautiful. Sometimes the simplest things catch my eye.
