“Subprime is contained”
The NVIDIA-OpenAI deal has zero impact on our financial relationship with OpenAI. We remain highly confident in OpenAI’s ability to raise funds and meet its commitments.

We need new banks for the same reason all industries need innovation. There are gaps in product offering or geography that need to be filled. There is an excess of commoditized regional/big banking across the country that should be consolidated, but De Novos are still vital to the system IMO

The reason they keep data center locations secret is that if the population found out where the AI customer service was housed the places would be destroyed quickly.

What’s the most slept on top 30 metro in the US? My answer – Pittsburgh. There’s a massive gap in national perception vs reality. Pittsburgh has transformed itself from a polluted steel town into a place with an extremely high quality of life. Pros: - Affordable housing / low COL - Sneaky good restaurant scene & museums - Avid pro sports culture – PNC Park arguably best in MLB - Growing tech industry - Wilderness 30-60 mins away - Amazing city parks - Higher education – Carnegie Mellon & Pitt - Tons of natural beauty – opposite of an ‘expansive grid’ metro - Most bridges (446) of any city in the US (ok more of a fun fact than pro) Cons: - Airport is rough w limited direct flights (new terminal opening soon though) - Public transit lacking - Not very diverse - City often doesn’t feel ‘connected’ due to topography (mostly insular pockets of communities) - Weather isn’t exactly SoCal

The one hotel loyalty program with perks that make sense is the Omni. You get two..!!! items ironed daily. As a business traveler this is much better than a corner room, or a suite that I'll never be in.

I’m often reminded of this letter from Lead Edge capital Companies choose which data to present -- ranging from "cash profits" to "being voted the best place to work in our city."
the biggest poker tell is what metrics you choose to share If you share a vanity metric when you could have shared a substantive one, it’s an obvious tell you don’t have real metrics

This outstanding map shows the different ages of the skylines across North America. Austin vs Fort Worth is fun. What urban histories do you see reflected here? Source: buff.ly/4cQpwjK

$BUHF is an interesting stock, moreso now that multiple CFO's are on the board. Profitable and decently managed. Company is uninvestable: 1) You're essentially buying into an HOA 2) Owners are a who's who of Philly/NYC execs 3) Owners "donate" to the company for improvements

4) The company issues shares at their discretion to new home owners. If you want to invest the best thing is to go buy a house here and be part of the community. The return from networking with neighbors is probably 1000x what anyone could make via the stock.

Find it interesting that retailers are going to bat against payment networks for their 1-2% fee yet the fact that Apple charges 30% to facilitate a transaction is overlooked.

Turn off the card networks for one day. Shift fraud liability to merchants for one week. Then let’s talk about the value of interchange.
Critics of the law say there's no guidance and it's too complicated to implement a zero interchange rate on just sales taxes and tips. How would you other folks in payments implement this if you were at the banks/V/MC/etc . . .?
