TWiN (This week in Nushell) #354 is out! My momma always said, if you don't have time to come up with anything witty to say about a TWiN, say "Thank you to all our contributors!" nushell.sh/blog/2026-06-05-t…

So true. Kind of the best thing that has happened to shell scripting in the last 10 years or so. Using it as your main shell is also nice btw 🤩

The Nushell community is incredibly welcoming and gracious. I made the "This week's" notes for adding an (already passing) unit test 🥹🙏🏻💚. Humbling with the scale of contributions in recent weeks. If you're looking for a fun, appreciative project to contribute to, consider taking Nushell for a spin (can't wait to try Ian's new ByteStream type)
This week in Nu: some big internal changes to improve how Nu runs external commands (much faster!) github.com/nushell/this_week…

For scripting, @nu_shell is genuinely the best that I can ever recall using. I don't do a lot of scripting but it's so easily learnable and usable that I can do what I need to in half the time that it would take me to tie together jq, awk, grep, etc etc with bash.

I love Nutshell ♥️ Started at the beginning of 2023. It's up on my list of the best investments made! Great to see the constant progress 🤩

I've fully made the switch to @nu_shell now that I have auto completions using carapace and I'm not going back. That was the last piece of the puzzle for me for switching over as a primary shell and it's great. I even have it bootstrap needed tools! github.com/mgattozzi/dotfile…

I have been writing @nu_shell lately, I feel liberated and in control of my machine. Mostly utilities I wanted but had a hard time writing in zsh and Rust was too much. Before you say, shell is for simple things, no, you are forced to write simple things because your shell is bad

Currently trying nu shell as my main shell and I must say this is just a so nice fresh breeze to what shells used to be. Great job to everyone involved! @nu_shell

Second, we're collaborating with #nushell, which we're super excited about! nushell is adopting our `cp` command and this release makes the necessary changes for that to happen. Follow the nushell release notes for updates about this in the near future!

I’m extremely excited slash nervous to speak at NixCon about Nuenv. If you’re into @nu_shell, derivations, realisation, and things of that sort, check it out! I intend to include a very broad conceptual overview that may appeal to ppl less in the weeds flakehub.com/flake/Determina…

TIL: @couchbase ships a REPL shell that is based on @nu_shell couchbase.sh/ I really feel that all DBs and Data management systems should start doing that. Things like @PostgreSQL pgcli, etc. would be SOOO much user friendlier if they were based on @nu_shell

Starting to appreciate the true power of @nu_shell . Custom commands allow you to create a quick custom CLIs with your own set of utilities – like listing all your projects and selecting the one to switch to with fzf. We are flying here! 🦅 nushell.sh/book/custom_comma…

I also recorded a video recently that shows Nushell in action if you like to see things evolve in real time. youtu.be/KF5dtxVsn1E
