Got a police update on a rogue landlord I tackled last year: Changed locks on his tenants. No reason. No notice. (Trying to force them out as he had higher paying tenants lined up). Panicking tenants called me. I called Police. They demanded he show up to unlock. So did they.

Efficiency cannot be measured by volume alone. Patients becoming more complex but the tools we have are from the 1980s. No EHR and no electronic prescribing in almost every hospital. Disconnected lab systems with no single patient identification number. Glacial progress on IT.

Images that bring us to tears when we see them just once, these Gazan doctors are seeing day in day out. While working under literal fire. While living in tents. What are we doing? I despair for the cowardice and inhumanity of global politics today.

Really poor form from @rtenews.
The IMJ article describes the extensive work that HSE colleagues put into standing up a response to the mpox outbreak. It describes how the gay community organised, informed, supported and successfully controlled the spread of a painful condition. Instead, RTÉ attempted shame?

Please share widely. I'm delighted to see this excellent correction of @davidmcw infuriatingly uninformed take on the Irish welfare state. We do NOT have one of the biggest welfare states in Europe & entitlements & services citizens in decent welfare states enjoy are alien to us.
