Pull requests are all about confidence in correctness. Are you confident that AI's code is correct, and if not, that mistakes can be fixed in a timely manner?
I'm with @thorstenball here – the time of PRs as they are today is over.
Why are you still using pull requests?
Is it for code review?
If so, do you really think your or your colleagues catch bugs and mistakes that an Opus 5.5 or Fable or Astra won't find? You can literally spawn all three of them and have them check four times each.
(Also, don't tell me you don't have a "stamp plz" Slack channel or group chat somewhere.)
Is it for knowledge sharing?
Surely there's better ways for that now than the PR, no? We have models that can generate explainer videos, presentations, podcasts, games, quizzes, walkthroughs, ... for any piece of code it can reach.
Is CI the reason?
Well ackshually, CI means continuous integration and its original meaning is the *opposite* of having long-lived branches and PRs.
But, leaving that aside, your agents are hopefully already running the tests before they push something, and hopefully they can run as long as they want and don't block you so they can run the whole test suite and generate "irrefutable proof" and end-to-end demo videos and so on... And so they run the tests and confirm and then you push to a branch and everything runs again and then you merge and then it runs again? That doesn't make sense, does it?
Maybe you work in open source and you accept contributions, in which case I can't speak to the value of pull requests. It's been 2 years since my last OSS contribution. But from what I heard, the time of the PR is coming to an end in OSS too?
I honestly don't get why people still stick to PRs.
With agents you can now move 10x faster, you can finally do real continuous integration, and get more confidence in the changes the agent made.
Don't slow yourself down by having all the changes pile up in a PR.
Can anyone tell me why AI loves creating rounded tags with a dot in them? What's that supposed to mean? Where did they learn to do it?
Big one indeed – and @adamwathan deserves every bit of it!
janux.build/ Super cool agentic framework built by the super talented @aralroca 🤯
Don’t you love SF tech bros who advertise modern day slavery as “getting out of your comfort zone”?
"I'm not anti AI. I'm anti idiot."
Replying to @AstrohackerLabs
I’m a huge proponent for AI. You can see how much I use it and others in my projects do too. Plus my writing on it. I’m not anti AI. I’m anti idiot. I’m pushing people to recognize that AI is still a tool, and bad AI outputs aren’t because AI is bad but because the person is an idiot.
The definition of “confidently incorrect” in a tweet.
Europeans can’t comprehend that you can live in nyc, take a 5-6 hours flight to San Francisco and you’re in the same country and don’t need to do anything about your phone. No extra charge for service.
In Europe you drive 10 min from Austria to Germany to buy cheaper groceries and you have to avoid using your phone because you’ll get extra charges as it’s another country and another cell provider.
That’s why euros use WhatsApp.
Most communications in the U.S. even far away in another state, don’t cost you more.
Readers added context they thought people might want to know
There are no additional charges to text, call or use internet when you cross the border to another EU country.

Now that it’s out: Vite/Void joining Cloudflare is a good thing for the internet, and I’m so happy for them. I can’t say the same thing about Nuxt joining Vercel – I actually found it rather unfortunate.
I'm tired of Claude telling me to "paste the script in the terminal." Bro you're in THE terminal – run the script yourself wtf.
Sad day for GitHub.
Ghostty is leaving GitHub. I'm GitHub user 1299, joined Feb 2008. I've visited GitHub almost every single day for over 18 years. It's never been a question for me where I'd put my projects: always GitHub. I'm super sad to say this, but its time to go. mitchellh.com/writing/ghostt…
With the help of Claude Max, I made 145 commits last month alone in my free time, building some of the most ambitious features I've always wanted: crossfade playback, offline support, parallel scanning, and an AI assistant. Welcome to Koel v9.0.0! github.com/koel/koel/release…
