I wanted to love @obsdmd for Android as it's Canadian but I don't, not yet. Made me think way too much, so frustrating. UI is awkward on a smartphone as it's trying to replicate the desktop UI and not succeeding. Subscribe to see my full review! noteapps.ca/obsidian-v1-0-5-…
Looks like Transo bit the dust. There was no activity since 2021 but it was a great app! I updated the page, added a `R.I.P.` banner, set the score to zero so it goes to the bottom at noteapps.softr.app/ and email'd the developer to see what happened
My 112th and final #notetaking app review is up! @noteshubapp is super fast, local first, supports Markdown, audio recordings, inline images, linking of notes, Kanban, Excalidraw drawings, and sync with GitHub OH MY! noteapps.ca/noteshub/
Replying to @Superlist
@Superlist is Wunderlist reborn: a good looking to-do app with support for notes, inline images, collaboration, and a generous free plan or $8/mo for Pro. Markdown support lacking noteapps.ca/superlist
OMG this made my day. Not one to share this type of stuff, but if you're into typefaces, face it you might like this! facebook.com/reel/1424364118…
Episode #110 is up! #MemoriNotes is a very basic offline note taking app which is fast, supports reminders, search, and labels but not much else. noteapps.ca/memorinotes/
My 109th episode is up! @journalisticapp is a fast micro journal app that is easy to use, intuitive, and very well thought out but no markdown support or image attachments. Full review at noteapps.ca/journalistic/
I just published my Python @signalapp SQLite export to Markdown converter. It processes a CSV export obtained via @sqlitebrowser and now I have all of the messages with friends and family for the past 18 months inline with my other @obsdmd notes! github.com/thephm/signal_sql…
Finally at a point to share how I am managing my 3,400+ person social network using plain #Markdown files and @obsdmd. Don't expect anyone else to do it but it feels good to share regardless! github.com/thephm/hal_md

Obsidian 1.5 is now available to all! ✨🎅
Tables. All new table editor! Table rows and columns are now easier to create, edit, sort, reorder, copy and paste.
Editor. New formatting menu. You can now right click in the editor to change text formatting, paragraph styles, and insert elements such as lists and tables.
Sync. Version history view has been revamped for better collaboration, and easy access to major revisions. You can now use Sync for up to 10 vaults, and maximum file size has increased from 100MB to 200MB.
Properties. You can now rename properties globally, and search now supports boolean and numbers within properties.
Plus tons more improvements and bug fixes! Happy holidays!
If you know someone looking for a job, please pass along my Job Seeker Tips. If you have feedback, please open an Issue or comment here. Thanks for sharing as I put a lot of effort into this after each time I looked for a job over decades. github.com/thephm/job-seeker…
Episode #108 in my search for the best Android #notetaking app is up! One Jotter is fast, good looking and has a lot of functionality including linking of notes, #Markdown support, calendar view, inline audio recording, images, sketching, and themes. noteapps.ca/one-jotter/
Episode #107 is up! SilverBullet is #opensource, supports WYSIWYG, and is a free Progressive Web App (PWA) that supports Markdown, templates, queries, and cross-device synchronization. Incredible! noteapps.ca/silverbullet
Some folks asked what apps I used, heres my current where and what, mostly #notetaking related but others as well
Episode #105 is up! Ruslin is a basic, local first open-source app that's fast and supports Markdown including tables, and folders, has 4 themes, and synchronizes with Joplin Cloud or Server. noteapps.ca/ruslin
My 104th #notetaking app review is up! @retronote_app by @pramodk73 is free, and fast, supports Markdown, multi-level tags, Google fonts, linking of notes, and a graph view, and it's completely Web-based so there's no app to install! noteapps.ca/retronote

Going to change my work on @Twitter. Increasing the positivity & good news & stopping the negativity.
"Why?" I hear millions of you ask!
Well it is because of the interesting talk I had with an elderly gent in the pub yesterday evening. 1/? – at Newcastle Upon Tyne, England
My 103rd Android #notetaking app review is up! @milanote is a companion app to their Web service and at that it's good. It has a clean user interface and it's fast but their free plan is too limited, the app doesn't stand on its own, and it's too expensive noteapps.ca/milanote/
Thanks @pkm_one for the lead on Merlin by @foyerwork which you mentioned in your newsletter. I didn't use it for my research but will! It's summary:
- The Android app needs improvement and better pricing to be competitive
- The Web app is visually appealing and worth exploring
My 102nd Android #notetaking app review is up! PureWriter is very fast, supports Markdown for in/output, exports to text, PDF or image, and backs up to WebDAV, OneDrive, Google Cloud, or Alibaba. Oh and a cool #opensource desktop side-car app!
