Scottish Nationalism *is* bigotry, hatred and division.
The day Scotland becomes independent- it’s the day we dump all the bigotry, hatred and division…

Laura, Don’t knows swing No (%90). The electoral commission no long supports biased yes/no questioning. %electorate voting for independence parties is very low (18%). it doesn’t come up high on voter priorities. Good journalism is rounded.

If she were asked whether Scots had a right to their own state, then the answer would have been immediate. But for Jews, it is another matter. She then indicates perhaps they should go somewhere, but can't identify it. Paralysed by fear of Islamist and extreme leftist opinion.

This is just a pathetic boys' toy. We don't want this. We want refugees to get the help they need. We want misinformation curbed. We want proper action on the climate crisis. We want toilets where trans people feel safe. F*CK YOU MUSK

John Swinney again pretends that because extraordinary Covid spending tapered off, creating negative consequentials a few years ago, he can no longer have confidence in the Barnett formula. Just a fundamentally dishonest and unserious argument. @lucyidunn asking the questions.

1/ excluding undecideds who tilt remain 2/ with biased Yes/No wording that the electoral commission doesn’t support anymore and 3/ polls show it’s not a priority for Scots. So nobody will care if Westminster keep saying No.

1/🚨Well, this is awkward. Very awkward. If Scotland had voted yes in 2014, the SNP’s triple lock commitment applied only for the first term of an independent parliament. Nicola Sturgeon was unambiguous about this in the Scottish Parliament (clip is from 26th November 2013).

You literally just posted confusing revenue with profit and even then confused profit with tax. Are you really wanting to die on that hill?

Because other than Ireland, none of the colonies was an integral part of the UK the way Scotland is. So separation was a lot easier. Nor did most leave with massive budget deficits/debts, which Scotland has in spades. And Ireland struggled for decades after independence in 1922 with low growth, stagnant living standards, engrained poverty and high emigration, especially of its young. Indeed it was stuck on the economic doldrums til early 1980s. Nobody should deny Scotland can separate if it wants. But those who advocate it should be honest about the difficulties/hardships it will bring — instead of sprinkling it all with Nationalist fairy dust and dismissing critics who bring facts to the table as ‘charlatans’ and fake Scots. You should be confronting the real issues instead. But name-calling is an easier cop out.

LOLZ one wonders how ALL of the multitude of countries previously linked to the British empire managed their conversion into independent entities without economic and cultural devastation? You sir, are a charlatan. An English Nat masquerading as a 'Scot'.

Christ another one? Lesley has consistently failed to succeed in any of this. Why does anyone think she’ll suddenly succeed?
Chuffed to be part of this effort to focus Indy minds - though to be clear, not the event organiser. #SNP26 delegates & Aberdonians welcome. See you Thursday night.

Thank you for allowing legitimate dialogue @HumzaYousaf. There is so much more to debate. Mr Cleese only mentioned 4 areas for discussion. Here are a few more practices which need to be debated: Non-stun halal animal slaughter, consanguinity, ‘honour’ violence, the niqab and burqa, anti semitism, madrassas, forced marriage, polygamy, Sharia Law, excessive punishments for apostasy and blasphemy, Pakistani rape gangs, hate preachers and Islamist terrorism. Would you agree that all of the above cultural practices are far removed from traditional English values? Which ones are compatible? What compromises can you suggest? @andyburnham @LucyMPowell @AngelaRayner @dominicgrieve_ @MayorofLondon @ShabanaMahmood @DanJarvisMBE @ukhomeoffice @bphillipsonMP @Ed_Miliband @stellacreasy @wesstreeting @mehdirhasan @sebastiansalek @jonlis1 @AyoubKhanMP @Bob_cart124 @ShockatAdam @zarahsultana @AdnanHussainMP @DillyHussain88 @fahimaM100 @Bushra1Shaikh @SholaMos1 @ZackPolanski @rachelmillward
Well Humza, how do you reconcile child marriage, wife beating, clitorectomies and stoning women...with traditional English values Do you see a compromise ? Child marriage is OK if the girl is over ten, perhaps ? A meeting point, half way ? Stoning women only with pieces of wood ? Removing only half the clitoris ? Let's have some suggestions, please, Humza

Debate Islam all you want. Perfectly legitimate. That's not what you're doing. You're asserting that Muslims are not compatible with life in Britain and therefore do not belong here. That isn't debate, that is lighting the fuse and hoping others will throw the molotov cocktail.

This is how law, rights and practices in muslim countries conflict with britain. It is not compatible as an ideology. Unless people disavow these types of beliefs they shouldn't be here.

Muslims in the British Army: ~450 Muslims on the British terrorism watchlist: ~30,000 For every Muslim that wants to fight for the country, there are about 66 that want to commit terror attacks. So yes, Islam is incompatible with our way of life.
