Been really enjoying herdr this week: herdr.dev/ scratched an itch that I really needed. Self contained and works with the workflow I had, but massively helped with cognitive load. Been thoroughly enjoying ripping their multiple worktrees in parallel. Joyous.
s-modal and s-page actions are a bit wonk on the mobile app. Seems like app bridge `display none`s actions and then the app hoists only primary action as an icon, using a default "+" if not set. And then the slot buttons don't actually do anything anyway when clicked 😅
Skilled in e-commerce, customer focused, inquisitive, pleasure to work with - would recommend! ♥️ xitter.cf/Benjdotxyz/status/2074…
Feels like I'm late to the party, but at least our development was ready on release day, even if my marketing wasn't 😂 remotion is great btw
Also just saw the shopify blog post for these, they look pretty cool! Especially if you've been hammered by bulk product imports in the past... speaking for a friend....

Shopify is removing the "--force" flag from the CLI this month.
Every CI/CD pipeline using "shopify app deploy --force" or "shopify app release --force" will break when the update ships.
Now here is why this matters beyond just fixing a script.
"--force" skips all confirmation prompts, including the ones that confirm extension deletions.
Extensions that get deleted remove merchant data permanently across every store that has the app installed. There is no undo.
Shopify replaced it with two flags.
"--allow-updates" adds and updates extensions, blocks deletions. Use this as the default in every automated pipeline.
"--allow-deletes" enables deletions only when explicitly intended.
My take: this is the right change. A single flag that treats adding a new field and deleting merchant data as equally low-risk was always a problem.
Good that it is fixed. Bad that most teams will find out when a deployment fails in production.
How to deal with it: Search every deployment script for "--force". Replace it with "--allow-updates". Done.

Shopify Devs: We heard that some of you wanted to make it easier to log events. Events for your own tracking (onboarding flows), events that should be shown to your merchants (coming) and events that you can then bill for.
Now it's possible.
Claude has been beyond dumb this week. Pretty frustrating end to the week. First time in a while where I'm on the fence if it was any quicker. Thinking it's worth a switch to GPT5.5 and a new harness. Seems like there is little point to brand loyalty when they fluctuate so much

something i've noticed: AI agents create a weird new kind of burnout. esp for young people.
a lot of ambitious 22 year olds are going to think the answer is simple:
- spin up more agents
- ship more code
- sleep less
- outwork everyone
and for a while, it will feel incredible.
you can keep multiple agents running, feed them tasks, review outputs, fix mistakes, make decisions, and keep the whole loop moving.
the problem is that the work no longer drains you through typing. it drains you through judgment.
More attention.
More context switching.
More verification.
More decisions per hour.
so instead of 8-10 normal productive hours, you might get 4-5 extremely intense hours before your brain is fully cooked. and you feel numb until you sleep properly and reset
some of my friends are already burnt out. they don't say it out loud but i can tell.
the agent can keep working 24/7.
the human still has a hard limit
What's the deal with sidekick extensions, is that now open for business for app developers? The docs look in place but I thought it was invite only?
Liking the sound of pi dev, but man, I really like linear, sentry, mixpanel MCPs (even if context bloat). Are folks just creating their own API cli wrappers? Seems a bit much
We finally reached 100 users today! It's not a lot in the grand scheme of things, but it's good to know the app is wanted and it's at least progress. Last week we were able to submit for built for Shopify too, excited to get some feedback and a chance at the coveted badge 😎
Kicked off our migration to web components for the embedded app this week (remove Polaris so we can upgrade to react 19 for inertia 3)... Wish me luck 🫡
Archived reviews. Is there any way to tell why they were archived? I'm guessing it's either time using the app, or no review text?
Kinda sucks to go through the live chat support, white glove service, end up with a very happy merchant, and it doesn't count here 🥲
It's stat Monday again. Just shy of 2 months from launch, and we're edging toward 100 active users. Our 5th 5* review came in Friday. So we're nearly at BFS stage. It feels like things are moving in the right direction at least. Not 🚀 progress, but still progress!
