Elon, I know you never read my postings, but this time you really have to read it & do something!! 2 days ago, a fire broke out in the underground parking garage of an apartment complex in Korea, involving a Mercedes-Benz BEV. The fire caused significant damage, burning >140 vehicles & rendering the garage unusable for almost a year. Due to the extreme heat, >1000°C, an inspection of the apartment building's structural safety is now necessary, indicating potentially massive damages. The media is extensively covering EV fires, leading to a resurgence of EV fire phobia. This issue is especially critical in Korea, where most people live in apartment buildings. Some apartment complexes have already started prohibiting EVs from entering their underground parking garages. At this point, Tesla Korea should provide data demonstrating that Tesla vehicles are safe from such issues. Why has there been no official statement? Information is needed on whether there have been any spontaneous combustion cases among the 5.5m Tesla vehicles sold worldwide, and if so, what the proportion is. Additionally, data on how Tesla's cylindrical batteries are resistant to fire, how Tesla's BMS handles fire prevention, & the safety measures in Tesla's vehicle design & battery manufacturing should be presented. Moreover, a comparative analysis of fire-related recalls with other EVs would be meaningful. Unlike other automotive OEMs who still heavily rely on ICEs for profit & might not need to address this issue, Tesla, being solely focused on EVs, should not remain silent on such matters. If the underground parking ban on EVs gains traction in my apartment due to this issue, I will take action anyhow. A well-documented, one- or two-page statement from Tesla, showing that Tesla is different from Mercedes-Benz EVs & backed by evidence, would be highly helpful. @elonmusk @tesla_korea @Tesla
