Second masterclass of the morning and Ola-Obaado Similoluwa just put the hardest question of the AI era on the screen:
“If AI writes your essay, gets you a job, or recommends your doctor, who is responsible when something goes wrong?”
Critical thinking isn’t a soft skill anymore. It’s the survival skill. The tools will only get better at doing things for us. The question is whether we stay sharp enough to own the outcomes.

Day 3 of the @nithub_lag Innovation Fair is live and the first session earned its title:
“Before Our Languages Go Silent.”
Fagoroye Ayomide of Nigeria AI Lab is walking a packed UNILAG hall through an audio collection framework for low-resource African languages. A five-stage methodology anyone can pick up and follow.
Millions speak our languages. AI barely hears them. This is the fix, from the root.

Sponsor session with real substance: Joshua Adenuga of FPG Technologies on the AI threat landscape. @nithub_lag
His frame: AI is changing the economics of cyber attacks through four capabilities: automation, speed, personalization, and adaptation.
That word “economics” is the point. Attacks that used to need a skilled team now need a subscription.
Phishing that used to be generic now knows your name, your bank, and your writing style. Defence has to get cheaper and faster at the same rate, and that’s the actual arms race.
Glory Olamigoke of Tech Revolution Africa is on stage with “The Anatomy of Impact,” @nithub_lag and he opened with the line every builder in this hall needed:
“Fall in love with the problem, not your first solution.”
If your technology fails tomorrow, what problem are you still obsessed with solving? Markets shift, tech goes stale.
Love the problem and you’ll simply(I’m not so sure about simply tho) pivot and find a new way to solve it.

Panel on Venture & Talent Pipelines is live and Ashwin Ravichandran of BMONI just said a quiet part loud:
“Fintech businesses in Nigeria are built for Lagos, not for Nigeria.”
The test he offered: outside the big names, how many startups can honestly claim traction beyond the shores of Lagos? COVID proved the point. Startups whose customers were grounded here saw incredible traction, and the moment those customers flew out, the businesses fell flat.
Proximity to your customer isn’t a nice-to-have. It’s the moat.

The final panel of the @nithub_lag fair is on stage now: Innovation Hubs as Gateways to Skills, Funding and Enterprises.
And the lineup is the whole thesis in one row of chairs:
1. Prof. Chika Yinka-Banjo, pioneer Director of UNILAG’s AI UniPod;
2. Prof. Oladimeji Odetunde, whose ESDC just produced federal venture grant winners from a pool of 30,000+ applicants;
3. Damilola Obidairo, CEO of 8thGear Hub & Venture Studio;
4. Dr. Oluwafemi Ipinnimo, Deputy Director of NITHUB; and Kingsley ’Et Abang.
Academia, a venture studio, and the hub hosting us, all arguing about the same question: how does a hub become a gateway instead of a building?

The keynote is on. @julian__duru , ten years building Moniepoint’s payment infrastructure, the engineer behind virtual accounts, now co-founder of Flow Research, is on stage at the @nithub_lag Innovation Fair.
His talk: Proof of Work for the AI Age. Open agents, evaluation, sovereign AI infrastructure.
His opening frame: the future is not one chatbot. It’s networks of agents embedded in the places we live and work: schools, clinics, farms, government.

There’s no need to panic about AI taking your job. The real win is knowing how to use it the right way. That was Dr. Victor Odumuyiwa’s (@vodumuyiwa) core message.
In his session at the #DSNAIBootcamp2025, he dropped the kind of insights that make you sit up a little straighter. He hammered on the essentials: stay adaptable, stay curious, and build real depth in your craft. That’s how you stay valuable in an AI-powered world.
If you were in the room at #DSNAIBootcamp2025, you already know how impactful it was.
What stuck with you the most from his session?
Drop it in the comments.
