The Australian Govt is akin to a company trading while insolvent. Increasing its workforce by 20 percent is madness. Add on top that, the ‘work’ they do generally makes it harder for private business to make a profit, thus in the long term, it reduces tax revenue. It’s a lose lose economic death spiral. And 2027 is gonna be BLEAK.
Since AlboMP took office, the federal public service has grown by about 45,000 staff, roughly 26%. That's from their own Budget papers.
Families are doing it tough while Canberra keeps hiring.
In my view, Labor is the party of the public service, not the taxpayer. #auspol🙄

Obama and Bill Gates want to pause AI. This is why.
Chamath explains the political calculus behind Obama’s anti AI speech
“This is a very important moment for a very simple reason, which is that the world is about to endow 3-6 companies with about $10 trillion of wealth.”
“And what Obama knows very well is that most of those companies are overwhelmingly left leaning. And what he also knows is that there is a huge portion of that money that will then get put into philanthropic and charitable causes that then he and the people around him will be beneficiaries of."
“That is the truth. We already know this because we know that some of these frontier corporations actually ask you to sign up DAFTs and have a portion of your stock that you're willing to pledge. So this money is going to go to things other than consumption or savings. It's going to go into PACs, it's going to go into political movements, and they stand to disproportionately benefit."
“So this has nothing to do with prosperity. This is a very simple political calculus. If you freeze frame the economy the way it is today, a handful of organizations that will disproportionately be able to affect the Democrats will win, they will capture the lion's share of the economic gains. And then they will help the Democrats win power. That's all this is."

A hack of the Australian Government happens in June through the use of AI.
But we only hear about it in September.
Just as @AlboMP is in New York arguing for controls over AI.
Talk about a stage managed performance.
But anyway, the real issue is how in this day and age it was possible to hack into an Australian Government system?
Let's not be sucked into the " AI did this, we need to regulate". The real question is " how did our Government have systems that were so open to breach"?

Birth rates falling mainly because the Government you constantly defend are taxing honest working Aussies to the poorhouse to fund corruption and idiocy that make honest working Aussies even poorer.
And we now also have the most expensive schooling in the OECD to parents, about 4 times the OECD average, thanks to our world leading (ahem) percentage of fee charging schools! And people wonder why birthrates are falling!!!! theguardian.com/australia-ne…
