ALT The church building features a prominent classical portico, with ionic capitalled columns beneath a triangular pediment. Its triple-fronted entrance doors have been traditionally painted blue and the lamps are from Macfarlane's famous Saracen Foundry. There is no reason why this main portico feature at least could not be retained and sensitively integrated into a better designed new tenement in a more traditional classical style.

ALT A clumsily designed replacement building with an ugly protruding corner element jars with the elegant proportions of the red adjacent sandstone tenements with their pitched roofs, oriel bays and corner turrets. It's also a disgraceful downgrade on the B-listed church building in the heart of the Glasgow West Conservation Area.
